Although several trucks loaded with LPG (Liquefied Petroleum gas) cylinders entered through Birjung border, Madeshis claim that they do not get cooking gas for consumption. The uneven distribution of cooking gas has made life difficult for the Madeshis. The supply system was badly hit due to border blockade by the Madeshis in southern Terai region, resulting in a shortage of essential commodities, including petrol and cooking gas. The Madeshis have demanded that the Nepal government must prioritize the availability of cooking gas for them at the earliest.
