The Assembly elections in Meghalaya was conducted on February 27 this year. Raising the issue as 'Special Mention', Das said that a total of 650 votes were cast in these three polling centres.

"No political party or candidate or any other organisation or person shall publish any poll-related advertisement in the print media on 26th and 27th February," Election Commission Secretary Ajoy Kumar said.
Elections to the 60 assembly seats in Meghalaya will be held on February 27. BJP, which is looking to unseat the Congress which is in power for almost 15 years, is contesting in 47 seats. The Congress is contesting in all seats.
BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli said: "They are trying to force these agendas and are spreading lies with regards to eating habits, but we have always said political parties don't decide what food people of an area have or what clothes they wear..."

As mango stocks started arriving in Hyderabad markets, police and municipal authorities have launched separate operations to check for the use of illegal ripening agents that pose health risks.
On April 4 and 5, police arrested at least two wholesale fruit traders who were allegedly using excessive ripening agents and chemicals to ripen mangoes from Andhra Pradesh.
