Peddi Movie Review and Release Highlights: Ram Charan garners praise; film eyes Rs 100 crore on Day 1

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Peddi continued its strong Day 1 run at the box office, reaching Rs 20.69 crore net in India by 4 pm on Thursday. The film is currently screening across 7,148 shows nationwide.

According to trade tracking website Sacnilk, Peddi has made a strong start at the box office on Day 1. The film is currently running across 6,415 shows nationwide and has collected an estimated India net of Rs 18.45 crore by 2 pm. Based on the current figures, the film's India gross stands at approximately Rs 21.77 crore.

As per Sacnilk trade reports, Peddi is currently running across 4,293 shows on Day 1 and has collected Rs 12.49 crore by 12 pm. This takes the film’s total India gross to Rs 14.74 crore.

Actor Janhvi Kapoor recently visited the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh ahead of the release of Peddi, seeking divine blessings. As part of her spiritual visit, she reportedly climbed the Alipiri footpath steps on foot, continuing her tradition of devotional temple visits during important phases of her life and career.

Peddi has recorded impressive advance bookings ahead of its release, selling over 82 lakh tickets across India on the day prior to its premiere, according to Sacnilk reports. The film is said to have grossed over Rs 20 crore in India from advance sales even before the first shows began screening. When blocked seats are added, the total advance figure rises to a strong Rs 33 crore.

The response has been largely driven by the original Telugu version, while dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam contributed only marginally, together collecting around Rs 75 lakh.

As of Day 1, Peddi is currently running across 3,444 shows and has collected a net of Rs 10.08 crore by 10 am, according to Sacnilk trade reports. This takes the film’s total India gross to Rs 11.89 crore.

The Telangana government has officially approved a temporary ticket price hike for Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, allowing exhibitors a short-term revision ahead of its release. In Hyderabad, pricing varies widely depending on the theatre type. Some single screens are offering tickets at lower rates starting from Rs 150 to Rs 200, while multiplexes are charging significantly higher prices. Regular premium, gold, and lounge seats are currently priced between Rs 420 and Rs 479. At the top end, luxury formats such as IMAX, 4DX, and recliner experiences are reportedly priced between Rs 600 and Rs 900+.

The buzz surrounding Peddi continues to soar, with fans rallying behind the film and hoping it emerges as a massive blockbuster. Reflecting the extraordinary excitement, the Ram Charan-starrer sold over 22.54K tickets in the last one hour on BookMyShow, as of 8:30 AM.

On Wednesday night, Ram Charan's wife Upasana attended a special screening of Peddi in Hyderabad along with her father, and videos and photos from the event quickly took over social media. The clips captured Upasana’s excitement as she cheered with fans inside a cinema hall.

Fans have been showering praise on the couple’s bond, highlighting Upasana’s constant presence through every milestone of Ram Charan’s journey.

Early reactions to Peddi continue to emerge from premiere shows, with fan @KumarSwayam3 sharing a positive first-half review on X. Describing the opening half as “Good”, the fan praised Ram Charan for his screen presence and dedication, writing that the actor “looks superb” in the film. The review also highlighted the strong performances from the supporting cast, applauded A. R. Rahman’s songs and background score—particularly Ram Charan’s introduction theme—and appreciated the use of real locations and the cricket sequences. The fan further noted that a couple of character arcs stood out and expressed hope for a strong second half, concluding, “A good second half and Buchi Babu has a winner.”

The excitement surrounding Peddi has reached fever pitch, with numerous photos and videos from special screenings and premiere shows flooding social media. One of the biggest highlights has come from G3 Theatre in Vijayawada, where a huge crowd of enthusiastic fans was seen gathering hours before the screening.

Ahead of Peddi's release, Sushmita Konidela shared an emotional message for her brother Ram Charan, praising his dedication and hard work on the film. In a heartfelt post, she wrote, “There are very few people who know how much you’ve selflessly invested into Peddi, Charan. I’ve watched you give every ounce of your energy, passion, and commitment to this film. Through every phase of the journey, your belief never wavered. She went on to wish Ram Charan, director Buchi Babu Sana, producer Venkata Satish Kilaru, and the entire Peddi team success, adding, “May audiences embrace this labour of love and make it a memorable blockbuster.”

As excitement peaks ahead of Peddi's release, several prominent members of the Mega family are set to catch the film's early screening at Hyderabad's Vimal Theatre. The Konidela–Allu family is known as the 'Mega family' by fans in reference to the famous Chiranjeevi (Mega Star).

According to reports, Upasana Konidela, director Sukumar, and other members of the Mega family are expected to attend the 7:45 PM show to watch Ram Charan's much-awaited entertainer.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to Instagram Stories to express her excitement for Peddi and extend her best wishes to Ram Charan and the entire team. Sharing her enthusiasm for the upcoming film, Samantha said it had been a long time since she felt this excited about a movie and described it as “Peddi time.” She praised Ram Charan’s talent and hard work, adding that she is confident he will be amazing in the film. Ahead of the release of Peddi, Pawan Kalyan, through Pawan Kalyan Creative Works, shared a heartfelt message wishing success to the film and its entire team. Quoting Napoleon Hill’s famous line, “Victory is always possible for the person who refuses to stop fighting,” he described Peddi as a story that reflects the spirit of the soil, the grit of sport, and the determination of a warrior who rises against all odds. In his message, Pawan Kalyan spoke warmly about Ram Charan, saying he has watched the actor grow “from an infant into a phenomenal, globally recognized Superstar.” He added that beyond Ram Charan’s fame, it is his humility, devotion, and discipline that truly set him apart in the film industry.

According to trade portal Sacnilk, Peddi has crossed the Rs 35 crore mark in worldwide advance bookings for its opening day, underlining the massive anticipation surrounding Ram Charan’s upcoming entertainer. With a full day still remaining before release, the film is expected to witness further growth in ticket sales.

If Peddi manages to cross the Rs 500 crore mark, it would be a major milestone for Ram Charan. The achievement would make it only his second film after RRR to enter the coveted club. More notably, it would become the first solo-led film of his career to reach the feat, as RRR was a multi-starrer that also featured Jr. NTR in a lead role.
