It is always good to have a left-hand and right-hand combination in the middle; it will always force the bowlers to alter the lines and lengths. From Afghanistan perspective they need to stop the rotation of strike.

It is an important innings for Tilak Varma. He did spend time in the middle, but he could go on to play till end, which is an important part of batting in the middle overs, especially in this format. His rotation of strike has been pretty, but the switch of gears has not been as fluent as it has been in T20 cricket.

Arya too has fallen here. This is something the young Indian batters need to learn. While they have managed to get starts, they have not been able to convert them to scores, and Arya too had all the time in this innings to make that score into a big innings, but he played a bit of rash shot at that of the innings to fall.

Despite the wicket, this is a terrific start for India. 12 overs into the game, they are already closer to 100. As we update, Arya has scored his half-century here. That is the art he has to learn as he grows and takes a lot more responsibility for the innings through and through.

It is an important innings for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after what happened in the previous game at the end. Also, he has not been able to get a score in this tournament in a must-win game; it might be his day; he is a big player in Sooryavanshi.
