In a surprise move, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Friday filed his nominations for the upcoming state elections from Arki instead of Theog constituency, where he has traditionally fought his elections. Singh intends to give up his seat, which falls in rural Shimla district, in favour of his son, Vikramaditya Singh.
The move is yet to confirmed the Congress Party high command, which will have to waiver its βone ticket for one family memberβ policy.
Meanwhile, Virbhadra Singh also took a dig at the opposition BJP party saying that GST and demonetisation are major issues favouring Congress in the upcoming election and the party will again form the government in the state based solely on its development agenda.
