The Cricket World Cup is one of the world's most prestigious cricket tournaments, held every four years, and the best teams from around the world compete for the title. One of the most critical aspects of the Cricket World Cup is the ability of batters to score fifties and it is a significant milestone.

Before the ongoing edition of the World Cup began, the record for most fifties hit in a Cricket World Cup was held by none other than Sachin Tendulkar with 21 half-centuries. Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan was next with 12 half-tons.

Current India captain Rohit Sharma has hit nine 50s and that ranked him at the number eight spot. That could change in the current edition. The next Indian on the list is Yuvraj Singh but he is at a distant number 19 with eight fifties.
