MCT Onboarding Experience
The Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) Onboarding Experience is a purpose-built program designed to prepare prospective trainers for success in the MCT role. It equips participants with the core skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to effectively deliver Microsoft training within the global learning ecosystem.
Through a structured and engaging experience, participants develop instructional and facilitation skills, gain a clear understanding of MCT program expectations and processes, and build foundational knowledge in AI and modern Microsoft technologies. The program emphasizes both skill development and validation—ensuring that individuals not only learn best practices but can also demonstrate their ability to deliver high-quality training experiences.
By completing the onboarding experience, candidates enable the MCT Program to confidently verify instructional capability and readiness to deliver Microsoft courseware. This ensures a consistent, high-quality learning experience for customers worldwide.
Prospective MCTs can explore available sessions and register for upcoming offerings through the MCT Portal by Pearson.
MCT Onboarding Quality Standards
The MCT Onboarding Experience is delivered by highly qualified members of the MCT community who have successfully completed a rigorous certification process to become MCT Onboarding Advisors (OBAs).
Microsoft upholds strict quality standards for the individuals responsible for evaluating the instructional capabilities of MCT candidates. All OBAs are assessed against a clearly defined rubric, ensuring they demonstrate strong facilitation skills, instructional expertise, and alignment with Microsoft training standards. Only individuals who meet all requirements and consistently uphold these quality expectations are selected to participate in the OBA program.
To ensure a high baseline of technical and instructional readiness, all candidates entering the MCT Onboarding Experience must hold either the AB-730 or AB-731 certification prior to attending the MCT Onboarding Experience.
