Can You Make It Controller Compatible or is it already I want my best friend to play it too
i can confidently say this is lixians finest work huge props, i pray he he feels extremely proud i cannot wait to play more
I can't help but notice there was an update to the game, but no listed changelogs. What is the difference gameplay wise?
THIS WAS AMAZING. Had to get all the achievements Lixian absolutely Killed it,
I posted my video here before but something happened with my old channel😅
great game, had fun 100% it!
pro tip: buy block as soon as you can
Bad Optimize
I can't download it when I do it does nothing
One thing that would be nice to be added is a hotkey to leave the shop using Esc
Otherwise absolutely phenomenal Game I can't wait for any updates...
(I hope mark DOES end up voicing warfstache :) )
this game is super fun I absolutely loved playing the game here is my game play please feel free to give me a like and follow if you enjoyed
Fun experience, great loop, and the jumpscares at random would get me good. Thanks Lixian.
10/10
Jogo muito bom, embora não saiba nada sobre os personagens. Eu consegi todos os achievements e vi o final secreto mas não faço ideia o que significa xd. O que é suposto fazer com o código que aparece no final?👁 Image
Not going to lie this game was a Blast. I saw Mark playing it and had to try it myself really enjoyed it. Loved that the Lunkys were always jumpscaring me. Great game fun Mechanics and a game that you can replay which makes it even more greater. Lixian man great job this game is freaking amazing can't way for future games man.
"PJXkhdR" I'm thinking YouTube Url but what the other piece be?
i loved this xoxo
Would it be possible/difficult to add controller support? I love the look of the game and want to play it myself but I'm no good at wasd and mouse controls.
I agree.. Would love to play this but I can't for the life of me play K&M and only can with Controllers
+Combat is simple but good, reminds me of Nightmare of Decay
+Satisfying upgrade loop
+Character models are unique
~ Room randomization could use a tweak or two, particularly to prevent the same room being picked three times in a row (which happened to me twice)
~Rarely, but sometimes, lunkies would spawn in spots where they get stuck and can't attack
- Enemy variety could have been nice, perhaps a couple rare spawns of lunkies that are faster. or harder to see, etc, with greater teeth reward if you kill them? Just a thought
- Ending is kinda... bland. That includes the "secret" ending which is less of a reward and more of a "go do ARG stuff or just forget about it lol". (Boss fight is fun though)
- Lighting is WAY too dark, even with flashlight - maybe add a flashlight upgrade?
-Wouldn't hurt to have the ability to skip dialogue / cutscenes quickly for those who are trying to fill out the rest of the achievements
Overall a fun game, definitely what I consider your best one now. Has some quirks and small downsides, but I enjoyed my time with it.
Great work.
loved the game 10/10 cant wait too see if theres a part 2 also very proud of you and the team lixian
The game is good, really good
sfx is top tier, graphics, mechanics too (personal fav is the revolver reload animation)
I know this is a fangame/passion project that Lixian made to Markiplier, I would still like to review it apart from that.
The game feels good to control, the combat (later) feels good. I like this FPS Rogue-lite game with the horror aspect. As expected, the horror can wear off after a few runs, but I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing.
The idea of temporary perks are fun. Like any good roguelikes, these can sway your playstyle in a run, think of The Binding of Isaac or Slay the spire, where temporary randomness can and will affect your playstyle. Here, due to the lack of weapon choices and playstyles it's not as relevant, but still fun.
Enemy variety is, well, lacking, but again, because this was designed to be a small game that outgrew itself, this is acceptable, but of course this makes the enemies predictible.
Lack of room variety. This can be felt pretty fast. The rooms are high quality, well designed, but because the same room can be repeated multiple times, you will quickly feel this repetition.
Anomalies are fun. They are good! I enjoyed them even though blackout gave me a few jumps. Hell is amazing when you can survive and need to farm teeth, but feels like a deathsentence early.
Game balance is... off, but once again, can be forgiven due to the original plan. The combat lacks any need for skills, how Lunky clones attack, you can't really dodge. So the early game you will trade 40-60 HP / enemy slain, because you can't rely on your skills to dodge out of an attack's way. This is somewhat frustrating. Just to take an examples in Hades or again TBOI, you can develop skills by learning enemy patterns and even without good upgrades/items you can progress and even finish the game (if you are really good of course). Here unfortunately, you are not given the chance. This forces you to almost immediately fail your first few runs, to just upgrade your teeth multiplier so you can start grinding for upgrades. And then after you have block, the fights became really simple and repetitive, switching between a hit and blocking to just get a bit more teeth per run. And the moment you get 100% block, you can easily become unkillable, at least until the end.
Buying the gun early feels like a negative thing. You only get to know it hits weak by itself after Warfstache explains it. Getting to make it good takes a lot of bones to upgrade which is not obtainable "early" (I say early as the game is about 1.5-2 hrs long to 100%), but ammo crates start replacing medkits as potential loot, which are REALLY useful early to get a bit more teeth unlike ammo.
Loot rooms feel weird. But that's just because somehow I managed to get into one with ZERO items which feels unintended?
Backtracking is not fun. The last level requires you to get to the end for a code which you have to memorize (maybe a keycard would be better?) and then backtrack the whole level. A teleport option would be appreciated (Enter the Gungeon uses this mechanic to reduce backtracking) as walking back multiple rooms, sometimes mazes without danger or reward is boring. Especially if you get the big map anomaly.
Warfcoins feel useless? I don't know, but I didn't find the point in them, besides not being able to take the free ones you get in shops. You will just convert what you need OR miscalculate, convert more and lose them cause you can't spend it. Besides fluff, I don't find any purpose of them, but it's a good joke Warfstache doesn't accept teeth, but has a machine for conversion.
The magnet could be a permanent upgrade. It can become annoying to try and collect teeth especially since they can fall behind obstacles or into pits.
Flashlight should be perma on. The game is realllllly dark, some cutscenes even turn your flashlight off, there is no reason why it shouldn't be perma on (or at least auto on) each run.
Endgame the combat feels good, the gun feels strong, I like the ragdoll. Because of this it can be good for a bit of a "brain off" shooter. I wish it had an infinite mode, where the game got harder as you go, but you could keep your perks and eventually buy all.
And the soundtrack. Woow, it's really amazing, fitting for all the situations and places, really well done!
I had fun, I wish it was a full length game :D
Very cool. Works well on macOS with Crossover, too.
I can verify that this game works on Linux, just extract the file and add the .exe to steams add non steam game function and force compatibility using proton. It runs great for me.
Thanks for all your hard work!
Don’t let this get to your head, but dude — this game really has everything! 🙂
It’s fun, replayable, has a great soundtrack, simple but very engaging gameplay, with just the right mix of horror and comedy.
I’ve been a gamer for over 30 years now, and lately games just feel more and more repetitive — like déjà vu all over again. These days it’s mostly remakes and safe ideas.
But this game… it has something. I’m not even sure what exactly, but it’s definitely there — and I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for making this!
Also, I have no idea what the secret ending code means — I’m not from the community 🙂
pretty cool but repetitive
Against your orders, I did, in fact, donate an additional $5 obligated payment. YOU NEED IT FOR THE HARD WORK YOU PUT YOURSELF INTO. TAKE IT.
I REALLY want to play this, but i get a fatal error on launch every time. Any suggestions?
Watched Markipliers video, really excited to try the game. Unfortunately, it crashes at the loading screen after the big 'Project Lunky' splash screen, before i get to go to Warf. After the endless flood of Lunky. Game locks up, crashes my graphics card, and then crashes itself. No troubleshooting has been successful so far
Honestly, really cool game, this has got to be your BEST yet and I have got to say, it angered me a little but i'm not good at Roguelike's anyway so it doesn't matter. Had ZERO issues throughout the entire game except getting smacked through a wall. Would definitely recommend this game to others, had such a blast playing and cannot wait for your next release.
Keep up the fantastic work Lixian 💚🦖 solid 9.5/10
Steps for Linux Users:
Haven't tried Lutris or wine. If you did please comment to help fellow Linux Gamers!
someone please help im trying to run the game but when it starts everything is staticy and inverted but when i try to take a picture it wont work(???) anyone have any advice
This was the most fun I’ve had playing a game in a while! Great job, Lixian! I got all the achievements and the secret ending in the vid above 😊
Both your video on the creation of the game as well as Mark's playthrough were both really entertaining. It was very fun and enjoyable to play through myself as well, even after knowing parts of it already.
One small nitpick, the periodic table poster in some places is outdated(?). 113 — Nihonium
115 — Moscovium
117 — Tennessine
118 — Oganesson
Overall a great experience. Thank you for making it!
For anyone who wants to play this game on Linux, you're going to be in for one extreme nightmare, because I couldn't even make it past the beginning. Yeah, that's right. The beginning of the game acted as a roadblock, all because for some reason the game doesn't understand that I'm using Linux. Now look, I get it. The game's made for Windows, and I have no idea how it is that the level that I got it working on through what I believe my distro of Linux is using is wine. So it is where I simply had to get that working, and I did, but just barely. Lixian, could you please make a Linux version?:
The precise problem I was dealing with is, in fact, that the game just sort of was where the graphics were all jittery, completely unplayable. I just thought I would add in the edit.
add the game to steam and try it though proton to see if that any better
I added it to Steam as a non-steam game and forced to use Compatibility mode with GE-Proton. Steam's Proton Experimental was not working for me as everything was dark, but GE-Proton did, which I downloaded via ProtonPlus.
I had to skip Shader compilation when the game starts as it was not working though, but after that it's working.
Your dev log was very funny Lixian, mostly because all of the things you added being my FAVORITE parts of the game. Ended up 100%'ing it in one session and at the end went; "Damn, wish he made an even HARDER final boss for the love of the game."
Absolutely LOVE the game, and the effort you put in was not wasted!
(ALSO! Need a way to have that gun parry at all times, it is GLORIOUS)
(ALSO—ALSO that ending if you know what I mean peak.)
I really want to play the game but I can't get past the intro without a fatal error. I've downloaded and uninstalled multiple times. I'm on windows 11 with a Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU and a Ryzen 7 9700X CPU
I downloaded the game yesterday and finished it at the same day with all achievements found and for someone who complained a little about making a simple yet good game, I found this "complex" game is just as great even thought I agree that it was sad that Lixian had to get rid of the balls in the liminal space because of the splash sound effect not working with them even thought we as player could make splash sound effect!!
This game is sooooo good, and i can't even find the rights words besides from good. Finishing the game for the first time really got me wanting more from Lixian cause he is a great guy who makes good content and video game for us all and for mark to play for us.
check out my video that I did for this game, it's neet.
I just finished the game, I went through and got all the achievements, beat the boss twice, got up to 4K teeth. Honestly a blast!!
Only suggestion I have is to have an added bonus reset where it restarts your progress, but not your upgrades, so you have all the crazy strength but you get to play the game again. Just something fun!
Seriously though, 10/10. Loved it!
oooooooooooo so fun
