hey uh, I tested it and impaling definitely does not make tridents do extra damage to players in java edition. tridents always do 9 melee damage unless it's a critical hit, and they do 8 damage when thrown, regardless of any water or impaling. they do extra damage to other underwater mobs, but on java edition, impaling does not make tridents do extra damage to other players. 76.164.136.66 22:38, 14 July 2019 (UTC)
