Its not mentioned here but do they have the same requirements for spawing sizes as the slime? Regardless of being the same or not it should be in the article. /54.87.181.129 14:09, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
I’m currently running a nether gold farm, spawn proofing against magma cubes of full size (making sure there are no spaces of 3*2,5*3) avalible has completely removed their spawning regardless of size. I belive this is the same for slimes, and I’d agree that it ought to be included in the article Visy23 (talk) 11:09, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
So I got amphibious-assaulted by one, and am pretty sure it'd jumped-up from solid blocks beneath. Not just straight out of the lava (which it seemed like it did as it hadn't at all been there a sec. before), and wondered if magma blocks can be used for defense - against the Cubes - in Survival, since they in any case can spawn on them. In SPAWNING: "A magma cube needs roughly a 3×3×3 free space to spawn"
Saying "roughly" instead of an accurate number does not invoke a whole lot of trust in this page or this wiki. "Roughly" both loses the trust of the reader and is also extremely unhelpful because the reader cannot know if the real number was rounded up or down.
Rounding of important numbers should be left to the user, not the writer. If the reason for "roughly" is not rounding and is just because the accurate number is unknown then that should be clearly stated
Tested on Bedrock, Magma Cubes and Slimes can and do damage and kill Iron Golems. DKRap064 (talk) 02:49, 27 September 2025 (UTC)
There is a missing info in the behavior section in the behavior it should contain an information that they do not take damage from water despite being fire themed
