It doesnt grow in the desert--1.165.122.100 09:31, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
Mangrove trees grow in two distinct sections, each with their own growth requirements. Notably, the bottom section does not require free space around the centre block, up to nine blocks above the propagule. Above this point, the mangrove tree requires a free space of 5x5 blocks around the centre. Placing a ten-high pillar of blocks next to the propagule does not seem to affect growth rates by much, but does prevent roots from growing in that direction. Blocks can also be placed above the cross-shaped soil around the propagule to prevent roots from growing down.
The "prevent roots from growing in that direction" I get roots going through pillars, but it doesn't replace pillar blocks with roots. So when the pillar is in a column that is selected for roots you don't see any roots grow because they all tried to be in the pillar and couldn't replace it or one of the tree patters is no roots on a side when it selects adjacent because it places the tree right against the ground.--Spikeball (talk) 23:50, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
The link is https://zh.minecraft.wiki/w/%E7%BA%A2%E6%A0%91. I didn't find an add button anywhere, so if anyone knows how to do it. Thanks! Nianyi Wang (talk) 14:01, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
