No clear (or any) description on what is the functional difference.

A mule is a different color, and a mule is made when a donkey and horse breed together. A mule is brown, while a donkey is light grey. TBFTE123 (talk) 21:54, 28 September 2020 (UTC)

Mules tend to have better stats since they have been averaged with at least one parent horse (whose stat pool is considerably better) as well as the Mule's ability to carry 15 item slots whilst tamed and or ridden --ArtasTL (talk) 18:12, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

There are contradicting information: Compare: "The maximum speed of mules, when created by breeding a horse and a donkey, varies between 4.8375 blocks/second and 14.5125 blocks/second.." with: "Mules' speed is always 0.175; the player's normal walking speed is 0.1"

this issue is resolved by the articles "spawned" vs "bred" clause --ArtasTL (talk) 18:10, 14 November 2020 (UTC)
