Mourner pottery shard depicting a warden

[edit source]
Latest comment: 27 March 20232 comments2 people in discussion

due to the general body shape and the horns/ears/antennae/tendrils, as well as the thing in the chest, i think this is a reasonable assumption User:Vzark's description in the edit history makes sense, however there is no evidence to show that it is an unreleased mob, and the shape pretty clearly resembles a warden, i don't see how this would be less reasonable than what the page says about the other pottery shards Mouse36 (talk) 20:25, 27 March 2023 (UTC) Mouse36

I agree that the mourner shard icon is just a warden. A super-stylized depiction, at that. The shards that are designed after a item or mob do not have literal names that directly indicate what they are. I think it's safe to assume that this is the same case for mourner/warden. arisaaaaa (talk) 23:21, 27 March 2023 (UTC)

sherd vs shard

Clarification should be made if pages will use "pottery shard" or "pottery sherd" so that there is consistency across the wiki, and pages do not alternate at random between them.

The discussion was opened at Minecraft Wiki talk:Style guide#Article titles: name changes and on the Discord, but no real decision was taken so as of right now it's better to use shard. --MetalManiacMc, French Minecraft Wiki Administrator 08:34, 28 April 2023 (UTC)

please rename all mentions of 'sherd' (in refrence to the pottery shards) to shards

its spelt "shard" in the game and not sherd, this inconsistency really upsets me, and it looks really dumb LunarCatty (talk) 06:53, 27 May 2023 (UTC)LunarCatty

It is actually spelt "sherd", which is an actual word to describe "historic or prehistoric" fragments of pottery. Any attempt to change it will be immediately reverted. BDJP (t|c) 06:59, 27 May 2023 (UTC)

The item tables are redundantly worded

There's already a column that mentions where to find them. "Cold ocean ruins", "desert well" and so on. So why does the "container" column need to specify "warm ocean" and "cold ocean" again? GMRE (talk) 19:14, 25 June 2023 (UTC)

Table of sherds only has 20 items not 23

The sherd table is incomplete, it’s missing three of the sherds and where to find them. Scrape Guster & Flow Natbat (talk) 16:07, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Those ones are in the natural generation section. They're a bit weird. While you do have to break pots to obtain them, they aren't a part of the loot table, they're just part of the pot. You break a pot to get the sherds in the same way you break a wheat crop to get wheat. - Harristic / Talk πŸ‘ Image

Resolved

Flow, guster, and scrape pottery sherds need added to the Generated Loot table

--FeedbackBot 13:44, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
Those three only generate naturally in trial chambers as part of the structure, and as such, they do not need to be added to the generated loot table. BDJP (t|c) 13:49, 28 May 2025 (UTC)
