Does anyone know if creepers drop music disks when killed by stray's arrows?
Am I right? There's a 1/3 chance that the dropped arrow number is generated, and a 1/2 chance that this generated number is 1 (otherwise it's 0)? And thus strays have an actual chance of 1/6 to drop the arrow? The current drop description seems rather confusing to me. --AttemptToCallNil, previously known as GreenStone (report bug, view backtrace) 12:17, 19 May 2016 (UTC)

Add render of a stray without the second layer, like the bogged's page.
The spawning section currently saids:
A stray may spawn directly under the sky at Y coordinates 60-66 in snowy plains, or ice spikes, replacing 80% of skeletons.
I've checked the code in:
and tested in 1.14.4 and 1.21.1 on a superflat with a spawnable platform at y 0 and y -64 respectively, and 1.21.5 on a world with normal terrain generation with a spawnable platform at y -64.
Could this 60-66 detail be in some version (that was removed shortly after?), on an older version than 1.14.4, or on bedrock?

In bedrock, strays just need to be surface spawns, not direct sky access, similar to husks. Can't speak to whether it's the same mechanic for Java, but on bedrock I get them to spawn under slabs and in the dark (night, tinted glass, or an elevated leaf roof to disperse sky light). it says that it takes 7 seconds for a skeleton to convert into a stray, however the home page did you know says it takes 22 seconds. Why? ~2026-PrismarineWitherAxe11930 (talk) 15:53, 26 May 2026 (UTC)
