In the section about harvesting, it states that crops harvested between stages 5-6 may drop seeds- I've had them not drop seeds and drop wheat sometimes. –The preceding unsigned comment was added by Redmom11 (Talk|Contribs) Please sign your posts with ~~~~ (July 3, 2011)
I don't see the difference between growing conditions and growth. shouldn't these two things be merged or all the content about light and water be moved into growing condition? –The preceding unsigned comment was added by jony1710 (Talk|Contribs) Please sign your posts with ~~~~ (March 11, 2011)
"~Till Grass~ will make farmland like dirt." Is that supposed to read "Tall Grass" or "tilled grass" or what? –The preceding unsigned comment was added by DizzieDawgie (Talk|Contribs) Please sign your posts with ~~~~ (May 29, 2011)
Wasn't sure if there were enough seed pages for it to have its own line on the Block and Item templates. I'll leave that for the regulars to decide. --Ecksearoh 16:40, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi, am kind of new, but I need help, because i want to get wheat, but I am trying to plant wheat seedsm but they dont come out... Thank you, --Merbat 18:31, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Every time I go to gather wheat from my farm, I end up with twice or three times as many seeds as I have wheat bundles. I now have a chest full of seeds. Other than throwing them into a lava pool, is there anything for which seeds, of any plant, can be used? Potions? Soups? Anything?

I think renaming this page is unnecessary. In Xbox 360 Edition, these seeds are named "Wheat Seeds", so the name is officially used in Minecraft.--89.21.193.86 12:01, 22 December 2012 (UTC)
Question: Has any thought been put into adding a section to each page for variants of the game? For example, the way you harvest wheat seeds in PE is much different than the regular version (PE requires using a hoe on normal grass versus tall grass or wheat in the other versions of the game), so why not have a section at the end of the wheat seeds page noting this? Just a thought. 74.211.70.220 00:25, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
My garden needs constant attention and takes up the whole day? Is there a way to automaticly tend my farm? --87.115.66.97 21:06, 31 March 2013 (UTC)
how long takes it for seeds to grow up –Preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.184.158.75 (talk) at 9:08, 25 January 2015 (UTC). Please sign your posts with ~~~~
Just like how "End Portal" has been renamed to "End Portal Frame" to avoid issues and confusion, I propose to rename this page to "Wheat Seeds". It's named like that in the console editions so it's an official name. --94.101.49.190 11:19, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Disagree Its in-game name in the PC and pocket editions is "seeds". In the case of similar titles, use {{about}}. –LauraFi - talk 12:40, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Disagree While both official names, "Seeds" is used in more editions. Use the disambig page in case of confusion with other seeds, or "any type of seeds" to refer to seeds as a whole. –KnightMiner t/c 20:42, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

Oppose per reasons that commenters have stated already. 👁 Image
Support once 1.13 is released. I prefer that articles use the in-game term that is used in the most editions whenever possible, except when there are two features with the exact same name.-- Madminecrafter12👁 Image

The article says "If the light level is too low, it's impossible to plant seeds." I know this isn't true for Bedrock—they can be planted but will pop off the first time the block gets a random tick—and I think it's also kind of false for Java, because there are fully automatic crop farm designs that depend on tricking a villager to plant on a too-dark block (but maybe it never really gets planted, I'm not sure). Is this statement obsolete? Is it still true for Legacy Console? – Auldrick (talk · contribs) 17:32, 24 October 2018 (UTC)
Is it still true on Legacy Console? No, it isn’t, it follows Bedrock’s behaviour. --Giorgosarv18 (talk/contribs) 17:41, 24 October 2018 (UTC)The drop rate for seeds when breaking fully grown wheat seems to have been changed, as it is now possible to get 4 seeds out of one plant (without a fortune tool). Can someone confirm this or find additional info, f.e. the version this was changed?
--Sirsiros (talk) 22:20, 24 June 2019 (UTC)
This was introduced in 1.14. I haven't tested for distribution, but average drop rate is 2.5 seeds per broken fully grown wheat block. -Anon 76.103.212.74 08:02, 15 July 2019 (UTC)
My seeds don't pop off at night, is it because they are watered or could it be something else? (Bedrock Edition) --Gameking1happy (talk) 21:39, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
What do you think?

Can someone fix the sprites on lines 212 and 215? Currently They are missing, thanks --The Minecraft Architect (talk) 18:55, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
