Template:Merging

This template can be used when a page has started the process of being merged into another page, often following a discussion, explaining to the reader that there is a merge ongoing. Should be used on large merges, usually due to long processes.

This template adds the page to the Category:Merge in progress.

• The |1= parameter set the suggested page to merge.
• The |2= parameter defines a second page to be the merge destination.
• The |reason= parameter adds a reason note.
• The |otherpage= parameter adds a note that link to the destination page's talk page.
• The |section= parameter changes the template to a section style. If |2= is specified, it also changes the message to indicate that the section and the page are being merged into their own page.
