Why can't Creating a Challenge Map stay
This page needs a rewrite; right now it's a mess of ideas. If anybody here makes custom maps, can you sprinkle some knowledge of spawn and SMP mechanics for entities in a section? That would be enough for me to organize the page. Beary605 04:12, 13 April 2013 (UTC)
I really don't know much about mob spawning, but I can offer you some advice to help.
Using Spawn Cages is probably the best method of specifically spawning mobs for traps, but this is a little difficult to get, as you need mods. You could try Tripwires and Dispensers for spawning, just ensure the player cannot open the Dispenser Interface and take out the eggs. Researching the spawn mechanics also helps, as does getting a friend to literally CHANGE the spawn mechanics in the game. If all else fails, get a modder to help, or even contact Mojang for information on spawn mechanics.
Sorry if this is no help to you, but if it is, good luck with the map!!

I think it would be a good idea to do abc order And some things good to know If you type this into a repeat command block: /xp @a (n) The player will get n xp Each tick Also /effect @a[lm=1] 2 3 Replace 1 with a min level Replace 2 with the amount of time Replace 3 with the strength And then set the delay in ticks to How ever often you want it to repeat I used these two commands to make a xp game that you battle for xp levels
Hope this helps.
Why not put mazes in unlighted bedrock pyramids? Or a single path so every obstacle must be dealt with. When a maze is solved, staircases lead to a maze on a different floor. Pyramids of resources can be built as well. In fact, I am making a challenge map with this method. Wwei23 (talk) 01:01, 30 December 2016 (UTC) Wwei23 (talk) 01:01, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
The whole thing's a total mess. It looks like a 5 year old wrote some of these. I am going through every one and cleaning it up. Also, the information in some of these are so outdated. If anybody wants to help me, please do, as this will take a very, very long time. A2rix (talk) 18:11, 20 March 2026 (UTC)
