LucasGameszYT is a director of the Minecraft Wiki.

My name is Lucas, I was born in the state of São Paulo (Brazil), and I like to play games, write code and chat on the internet. Sometimes I can be a bit inactive due to my busy life, but I always like to check the wiki and translate some pages when I am free.

I first learned about Minecraft in 2019, but since then I've been fascinated by the game's universe, exploring interesting facts and trivia until I discovered the Wiki. I've been taking some English classes for a while and I really enjoy the language, which helps me to translate articles from the English Wiki. In addition, I've also had some experience with the Lua, which is also used in this wiki's interface, which helps me to solve some technical issues with templates, modules and systems.

I created my wiki account on February 5, 2021, at the time of Gamepedia and, after a few edits, I joined the Brazilian Portuguese Wiki's Discord server and was promoted to patroller. On April 24, 2024, after a vote in the community portal, I was promoted to the position of administrator at the Brazilian Portuguese Minecraft Wiki.^[1]

After discovering the wiki, I made my first edit by translating the Java Edition 21w05b page, a small snapshot of 1.17, and also helped translate the new content of that version. Since then, I've been focusing on translating pages for new Minecraft versions and features. I also help to translate and update outdated articles whenever possible.

I also contribute to the wiki's social media posts in Portuguese, together with the admin CraftianosHard.

Since my promotion, I have taken part in many projects in the Brazilian Portuguese Wiki, which you can check at my profile page in Portuguese. However, I've also been involved in some projects in the English Wiki, fixing issues on some pages and working with some editors on a new theme called Hydra.

In June 2024, the Minecraft Wiki turned 15 years old. To celebrate, the site's logo was changed for a week and a special notice was added to the main page. However, some people thought this wasn't enough and decided to recreate the whole old theme that was used by the wiki when it was owned by Gamepedia. That's how the journey to recreate that theme began.

Hydra is the name of a theme gadget developed by CraftianosHard, dr03ramos, Faariaz and LucasGameszYT. When the gadget is enabled, the wiki theme is changed to the 2016 ^[2]design from the old Gamepedia. The entire theme code can be found here.

During the creation of the theme, I worked on recreating some elements of the old interface, such as the sidebar, the search bar, the old message boxes and the footer icons, as well as making several tweaks and proofreading the code. In the end, the theme was ported to the English wiki and other variants of the wiki, making it a much appreciated theme that is used by many editors, mainly due to the feeling of nostalgia that the gadget brings.
