Kauan Farias, also known in-game as Faariaz ( /ˈfɛriəz/ FAH-REE-AS), is a veteran Minecraft player, administrator and representative^[1] of the Brazilian Portuguese Wiki, mainly helping to prevent vandalism and expand and translate articles.

It was by watching Brazilian YouTube videos from classics such as Leon, Monark, VenomExtreme, Rezende, Nenho and Nenha and others that he met and had his first contact with Minecraft, in mid-2010, with only five years old. It was only in 2011, however, that Kauan could finally play the game, still with a cracked account and using launchers such as 👁 Invicon Grass Block.png: Sprite image for Grass Block in Minecraft

oak planks, besides using the Soartex Fanver resource pack – all this on Java Edition 1.2.5. Although this is the first version he played, Kauan also remembers to have adventured himself in the first ever release, the 1.0.0. Four years later, he adquired his original Minecraft account after buying a key from an old Brazilian website called Centralkeys ^(archive), which he still owns.

Starting to play in Brazilian servers like Craftlândia, especially through their launcher, he began slowly discovering the various possible game modes, going through survival, 👁 BlockSprite iron-bars.png: Sprite image for iron-bars in Minecraft

Rankup and others, with the last two being what Kauan used to play the most. Around 2013–2015, an old server called SpacePvP caught his attention and made him addicted to 👁 ItemSprite diamond-pickaxe.png: Sprite image for diamond-pickaxe in Minecraft
Rankup, a game mode in which you must improve your ranking usually through mining, but also through machines, 👁 Image
spawners and other ways to get money. He wasn't only good at this but also at PvP, winning several battles against players in themed arenas.

He used to also be part of the team of some servers, working from helper to moderator, and, until the present days, he loves giving support to both beginners and veterans, bringing all his experience gathered from more than 10 years of playing Minecraft to the surface. In addition, Kauan also has experiences with creating servers and knows how to handle most plugins and their commands, but lately he has lost practice since it is no longer something he does often.

Another passion of his is mods. Brazilian series such as Minecraft com Mods (lit. "Minecraft with Mods") by the YouTuber Polyana, for example, used to made him feel super curious to test all of this on his own computer, spending hours exploring iconic mods such as IndustrialCraft, BuildCraft, Aether etc., even creating his own modpacks: "Dexty" and "Lucky Block Mod", both available in his old account on the Technic website. Besides this, there was others that nowadays are classics, such as: "Paraíso" (lit. "Paradise"), "Isolados" (lit. "Isolated"), "Escadona" (lit. "Big Stairs"), "Diários de Minecraft" (lit. "Minecraft Diaries") and much more.

Kauan also helped creating the Hydra theme, which aims to bring the old looking the Wiki had back when it used to be hosted on Gamepedia. Using images of reference and the Wayback Machine website, it was possible to see how the page used to be back then and manipulate the default theme's CSS, Vector, to faithfully reproduce the theme. Particularly, he helped on the following aspects:

• Brought transparency to the side menu and footer, also removing the bold from the menu titles and aligning them correctly;
• Removed the hide option from the table of contents (TOC), also giving its numbers colors to look like links and bringing their names close to each other;
• Brought the image 👁 Image
  to the footer initially through JavaScript, being later directly adapted on Hydra's CSS by LucasGameszYT, Brazilian Wiki administrator, which helped loading the theme faster.

Besides him, the other users who contributed for the project were: Corelakes and dr03ramos.

After having it finished on June 27th, 2024, a day later, Harristic, English Wiki administrator, brought our theme here officially, even sharing it on an 👁 Image
(formerly Twitter) post.^[2]

• Minecraft Wiki's Rich Presence on the browser extension PreMiD: allows Discord users to show as status which page they are in and what action they're doing in the Wiki. The coding was done by theusaf from an idea given by Kauan on GitHub.

• The first in-game name Kauan created that started his original account was "iKauanFariasBR", however, in an attempt to clear the history and keep only "Faariaz" and "faariAz_" in the list, he got in touch with Mojang via email requesting the others' removal, but they had only deleted this one since the remaining in-game names "didn't have any personal information that could compromise his integrity". Now, "iKauanFariasBR" is only part of the history and is no longer linked to Kauan's account.

• His Minecraft nickname came from his surname, "Farias", but stylized differently by doubling the first A and replacing S to Z, which still keeps a similar sounding but makes it different.

• Kauan was already an editor that contributed to the extinct Brazilian page Minecraft Interessante ^{(archive; in German)} ("Interesting Minecraft", in English), on Facebook, created by the Brazilian Wiki director, Corelakes, and having almost 20.000 likes. The page was about curious and interesting subjects from the game, in addition to also informing players, but that was suspended by a boycott given by the platform. He was the responsible for temporarily posting updates from Minecraft Live 2021 to the followers, keeping them in touch about the event and the winner of the Mob Vote from that year, which was the 👁 EntitySprite allay.png: Sprite image for allay in Minecraft
