The Copper Cape is a cape that was given out to promote The Copper Age.

Appearance

The cape's design depicts a variation of the pattern that appears on chiseled copper and the top of copper chests. This pattern has various stages of oxidization, with the top of the cape depicting copper that is not oxidized, and the bottom of the cape depicting fully oxidized copper.

The elytra design uses a similar oxidization gradient, but depicts copper grates instead.

The Copper Cape could be obtained as the final reward of a special three-part community challenge known as "The Copper Cape Quest", which began on September 30, 2025.[1][2]

In order to obtain the cape, players must complete one of the following tasks:

October 13 (15:00 UTC) – October 20, 2025 (17:00 UTC) Place a copper golem statue anywhere in Bedrock Edition in any game mode.[note 1]

Twitch: Watch 5 minutes of any participating Minecraft livestream.

September 30, 2025The Copper Cape Quest is first announced, and its first challenge begins. At this time, the cape design had not yet been revealed.
October 6, 2025The first Copper Cape Quest challenge is completed.
October 7, 2025The second Copper Cape Quest challenge begins.
October 13, 2025The Copper Cape is now obtainable, and its design is revealed.
For the first 3 hours of the Copper Cape Quest, redeeming a code earned from TikTok would give players an item called "TBD 3" on the checkout screen.
October 15, 2025The Copper Cape is now automatically given to Java Edition players who obtained the cape on Bedrock Edition.
October 17, 2025The Copper Crown event, where players can obtain codes for the Copper Cape, begins.
October 19, 2025The Copper Crown event ends, and players can no longer obtain codes for the Copper Cape this way.
October 20, 2025The Copper Cape can no longer be obtained by placing a Copper Golem Statue down in Bedrock Edition.
New codes for the Copper Cape can no longer be obtained from Twitch or TikTok.
November 20, 2025By this date, all players that completed the in-game Bedrock challenge are guaranteed to have received it.

  • The Copper Cape was not available for Java Edition users at the time of its release, with Mojang confirming they were working to fix the issue.[3] Java Edition users were able to use the cape from October 15.

  1. ↑ This automatically awarded the cape to both Bedrock Edition and Java Edition without the need to redeem a code. The cape rollout was delayed, but was guaranteed to occur within 30 days of the promotion end date. The promotion end date is listed as October 20, 2025, so the cape rollout deadline would be November 19, 2025.
  2. ↑ The livestream in question needed to have its respective platform's rewards program enabled.
  3. ↑ This task could not be completed normally in regions where the streaming platforms or their rewards programs were unavailable. Players in these regions could obtain the cape by using a proxy/VPN, traveling to regions where they were available, or receiving a code from another player.
