I wonder where has the good old MTV gone. When it actually made some sense, when it actually wasn't that generic, fake and when it was really about music. I have no idea why most of the time the only thing I get to see is a weird kind of a reality TV show that sucks up my brain and makes me wonder whether I should get a famous face too. WHERE IS MTV UNPLUGGED? Where did the good music awards go.. seriously, especially those get lamer every year. And I'm not just talking about the programme.. Every single piece of shit Timbaland produces sounds SO similar. I don't care he is a great producer and everyone wants to work with him. The whole music industry makes me so sick, even more than Timbaland's teeth in Nelly Furtado's 'Say It Right'.
I've worked at the Things Remembered store location in the Northwest Arkansas Mall for almost a month and I still have not been paid for my work. My water has been shut off, my electricity is about to be and the only thing I've eaten in the last 48 hours was a bread stick.
I am not frivolous with my money despite it being the Christmas season. I even had to skip out on buying food for myself because I STILL HAVEN'T BEEN PAID!
Apparently their payroll department doesn't realize that refusing to pay it's employees is highly illegal.
Don't shop or apply for work at one of these stores, these greedy people have destroyed my Christmas and now I have to pay almost $200 in re-connect fees for my utilities at the end of the month.
This news story had really angered me.
Okay, firstly I'm fully aware I did not know Jessica, her family or the circumstances. I also know people are capable of lying. But I simply
cannot believe that this poor girl made up the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. An open verdict - what a fucking lie. It isn't an open verdict, this poor girl obviously committed suicide because her distress was unbearable. She can't have been distressed and suicidal for no reason.
Even if her father didn't do what she claimed (which personally I highly doubt) there was obviously something severely wrong for her to have attempted suicide 3 times - and sadly succeeded the final time.
So they are going to leave it like this. With probably no further investigation. Bastards.
There is something extremely wrong in this world. Social services leave children to be abused or even killed at the hands of incapable parents - yet take away kids from loving parents just because the mother is diagnosed with BPD or happens to be homosexual. Murderers and rapists are given homes and new identities whilst those who have no criminal record are left homeless because there is a fucking waiting list. A young women who managed to speak out about being sexually abused, kills herself and her perpetrator walks free... where is the sense in all this??
As you can tell, i'm rather pissed off.
It just dawned on me this week how dumb Americans are:
PROBLEM: Air Conditioners eat up energy and destroy the ozone layer, "Well I need the AC in my house, it's the only way to keep cool!" SOLUTION: Drink more cold water! Drink it slowly, drink lots of it! If you drink ice cold H2O during hot days it'll cool you down AND re-hydrate you. Staying active actually helps you there, too. Swimming in particular. Doctors and Personal Trainers say it's one of the best work-outs you can do. Hey, here's a novel idea; Go swimming in ice cold water! the Finns, Swedes and Icelanders do it for fun, and they're among the healthiest people on Earth! Americans don't drink nearly enough water anyway, kill two (maybe three, granted no-one pees in the pool) birds with the same stone!
PROBLEM: People who can easily walk or take the bus to work but own a truck or SUV anyway, thus eating up fossil fuel and destroying the environment, "But it gets cold during the winter, how else do I get to work?" SOLUTION: Grow a pair and buy some decent shoes, you pansies. Yeah winter is cold here in Maine, but I'm from Alaska: You wussy Mainers don't know what cold IS as far as I'm concerned! If it takes you less than a half hour (or whatever your body can physically handle without passing out on the sidewalk) to walk to your job, you don't need a vehicle. And if you still think winter is "too cold" for you, buy a damn bus pass.
PROBLEM: Global Warming, too many people using up too many resources and we're the worst according to recent surveys. SOLUTION: Bird Flu, Cancer, Asteroids, Accidental Deaths, Capital Punnishment, Hantavirus, Steptococcus, E. Coli, Auto-Erotic Asphyxiation, Salmonella, Hurricanes, Earthquakes, Mad Cow Disease, the Black Death (it's a' comin BACK!) do I really need to continue? Life should be about QUALITY, not QUANTITY! There's over 6 billion people on Earth and not enough supplies and resources for all of them. Global Warming may be inevitable, but it could probably slow down significantly if there were far less people on our planet. I hate to say it, but it's true.
TODAY'S LESSON: Drink more water, walk to work or use public transportation, and stop human over-breeding.
