Synopsis

Thirty years ago, the Eurasian continent was devastated by a supermassive "spatial quake"β€”a phenomenon involving space vibrations of unknown originβ€”resulting in the deaths of over 150 million people. Since then, these quakes have been plaguing the world intermittently, albeit on a lighter scale.

Shidou Itsuka is a seemingly average high school student who lives with his younger sister, Kotori. When an imminent spatial quake threatens the safety of Tengu City, he rushes to save her, only to be caught in the resulting eruption. He discovers a mysterious girl at its source, who is revealed to be a "Spirit," an otherworldly entity whose appearance triggers a spatial quake. Soon after, he becomes embroiled in a skirmish between the girl and the Anti-Spirit Team, a ruthless strike force with the goal of annihilating Spirits.

However, there is a third party that believes in saving the spirits: "Ratatoskr," which surprisingly is commanded by Shidou's little sister! Kotori forcibly recruits Shidou after the clash, presenting to him an alternative method of dealing with the danger posed by the Spiritsβ€”make them fall in love with him. Now, the fate of the world rests on his dating prowess, as he seeks out Spirits in order to charm them.

The anime premiered on March 31, 2013 on Niconico. On TV, it premiered on April 6, 2013 on Tokyo MX. The Blu-ray Box features an additional 35 minutes worth of content. This will always have a special place in my heart, and honestly, I get why it’s one of your favorites. I first watched it back in 2016, and then again this year all because a friend casually mentioned that there was a fourth season and I nearly lost my mind xdd. For me, this anime wasn’t just another show. It was the first one that really pulled me into the world of anime. The one that made me want to watch more and more, explore new genres, discover new stories, and fall in love with characters in the most chaotic way possible. And even ... after all this time, it’s still one of the few anime I genuinely, consistently enjoy. The mix of romance, comedy, supernatural elements, and all the wild plot twists just hits differently. The characters are memorable, the story is fun, and the whole vibe is exactly the kind of thing that sticks with you for years. So yeah Date A Live isn’t just an anime for me. It’s the anime that started everything. And I’ll always love it for that.

Mixed Feelings
Overall, this season feels half-baked. For the first sevenish episodes, it sticks to a plot very loosely and follows a formula of boobs and explosions, as many say. It isn't until the second half, closer to the end, where it actually starts to fill with a coherent narrative and the characters actually exhibit some depth. Unfortunately, it leaves the plot and character development for the next season. It is frustrating, to say the least, to watch this show finally have substance, then push it off. Though the execution of such is inconsistent and often subpar, the thematic elements are very clearly present! Again, it is ... just frustrating that these themes and deeper characterization are at the end of the season, because it makes the first 7 or so episodes feel lackluster. BUT! It does make me excited for season 2, which is something I can vividly see myself liking. Though I thought season 1 was fine, it showed real promise of something tangible at the end. But maybe I'm digging too deep into a series like this... Overall, a 6/10 series with 8/10 peaks.

Pedo bait would be appalling but it could be worse. If someone tells you they enjoy the how get escape while you can. i regret watching this show admittedly i was 13 but this is some disgusting sh*t. there is no plot like most ecchi and its core focuses on the mc saving the girls and lewd situations idk been a long time since watching just here to give others a warning. story 1/10 not unique character. bad. There was no goal just terrible romance and with the utmost sincereness stay away from this show. how much do i need to type with the ... not enough info i will just answer the questions ts gives.
1.The story is not unique and very predictable i remember the show still (unfortunately) you will know all the plot to come from ep 1.
2. The art is fine and fitting its 7/10 but that is not the issue
3.The characters are not well rounded they are basic and predictable "blush" (sorry but i need to get the point across) no one has ever been this kind to me or "i've been alone my whole life i can't believe you saved me. just trash.
4. No use previous example above.
