Hi! Apologies for the super delayed response as I was away from MAL for several months... Thanks for saying that I'm organized. Although, I think I'm more of the "organized clutter" type... LOL.
Regarding organizing my tags, I just edit them on anime and manga entries as I go along. The only prep I probably did was when I created my blog entry for reference. Uhm, I only used Apple Notes since I use a Mac; I just typed and copied and pasted everything manually (BBCode and links). First, I listed the tags I could think of and then I just added some more tags later on. To preview mistakes and whatnot, I just copied and pasted my draft to some forum thread back then when we still couldn't preview our edits. I sometimes use this BBCode editor for checking character count but I now mostly use the preview on MAL and some scripts.
I don't use Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel for my tags. I only use them for tracking character, anime and manga relations on the sidebars of some clubs I manage.
I created the blog entry Tags Legend because I wanted an easier way to check certain entries according to my tags. Since my lists keep on growing with every entry I add, it's just so much easier to check with tags per status (Watching/Reading, Completed, On-Hold, Dropped, PTW/PTR).
I think there's really no easy way or shortcut for tagging entries. You'll really have to allot some time for it. But it's all worth it especially when you're trying to find something. I'm just glad I started doing this when my lists had fewer entries. You have more completed manga entries than me so I'm not sure how you should go about it. Perhaps, you can add tags to new entries in your list? Then edit the older entries later on... I usually add tags when I add an entry to my lists. I just edit the tags per status when I feel like it. I also create a lot of stacks as well as manage some clubs and the tags help a lot.
Oh, were you talking about this blog entry Database Queue, though? I've forgotten about it since I edit my stacks more than my blogs these days. Maybe I'll edit it some time... Hmm, if you're only gonna tag your DB submissions then I don't think it'd be too difficult (compared to tagging your entire lists) unless you have tons of submissions. Maybe creating a stack would be easier? I made some stacks for my DB submissions too (My Approved Anime DB Submissions, My Approved Manga DB Submissions) because it was getting hard to keep up the blog. Just set your stack to Unlisted and you'll be fine. I think a stack would help a lot if you'd still want to tag your entries; the entries would be grouped together in a stack so you can just edit the tags within the stack since there's an edit button for each entry.
I've been meaning to convert my blogs to markdown so I can have them in other places that uses Markdown (i.e. Obsidian, AniList, Anime-Planet) but my blog entries contain tons of BBCode so editing/converting BBCode to Markdown is my dilemma.
If you're more comfortable with using Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, Notion, Notepad, Apples Notes, Obsidian or something else then perhaps you can just continue doing what you've already been doing to track your DB submissions. Sorry, I'm not much help.
I've been playing on JP since 2019 (paused for some time before the lvl 120 update was introduced, however, and came back mostly because I was interested in Lilith), but I also created a NA account a few months ago, so if you want we can add each other there. The Grand feature is pretty cool, although I wanted to make Olga Extra II Grand, but I don't think I'll be able to clear her requirements any time soon, so I chose Typhon instead.
Is Lady Spinel meta or oshi? I don't really know who is considered strong and who isn't, but she's my favorite LB6 character, so I can appreciate seeing her on your list. Same with Jalter (my top-2 FGO servant after Tomoe).
Looks like that blog post is set to be private, I can't access it.
I know that Uma Musume is a big hit, but I haven't tried playing it myself. Don't wanna add another gacha to my list ha-ha.
this was my second week back to work after my break and it's been picking up, i have a crazy few weeks ahead of me until about mid october-ish
as for reading and watching, i've caught the manga bug again, reading has been eating up most of my free time and i've been looking into indie manga publishers more than ever before
if i remember correctly i found you through one of my other friends on here, saw that you've read a lot of stuff and figured it'd be nice to talk manga if you felt like it
wow that's a lot! I think your intuition is right as most of my Towako and LO entries have been mass-updated.
It does suck that the mods are mostly stuck declining submissions that will never make it to the database for years....
Nah, it's nice! The idea of a small explanation in spoilers was actually something I've been meaning to add to my own, I just don't have the motivation yet
Mine is a little bit more generic since it was made heavily on hindsight. I see you have other nice blogs too
Hey man. Happy belated new year as well. Apologies for the (very) late response. I usually didn't notice the messages in MAL. Seasonal shows are actually easier to follow rather than the old shows. It's something I look forward to every week. Obviously, it does not apply to all shows but I usually spend a bit of my time, every day, to consume the seasonal shows. Sometime, I just speed it up for shows that are not worthy my full attention huhu
