A selection of pre-2000 Mecha anime, excluding Gundam. Includes all subgenres (super robot, space opera, war chronicle, etc). One entry per franchise - many of these have movies, alternate settings, etc to enjoy if you like the original story.
This list is non-exhaustive, but contains most of the larger franchises (Getter, Mazinger, Eva, etc.).
Listed Chronologically, and franchises are represented by their first entry in production order.
