Hello, my name is Swapnil Patil. I’ve been kicking around in WordPress for a good few years now and I absolutely love working with it. I write a blog to help myself with what I learned and perhaps help other people. I help organize meetups and whenever I can I attend tech events.

WordPress Origin Story

I started off with WordPress as a blogger. After playing around with different blogging platforms; It didn’t take me long to discover that WordPress was exactly what I needed for this. I discovered WordPress 3.0 and was blown away by how easy it was to use and extend. That has only improved with time and now I’m fully immersed in the code, community and culture of WordPress.

Now, I think 100 times before not using WordPress for a new project. The feeling I have is that I am “standing on the shoulders of giants” when I start a new project. The learning curve (as a developer) is not easy, it takes time and dedication, I am still learning and read everything I can to learn about the development aspects. I try to go to as many WordCamps and meetups as possible.
