The creation of this community was inspired by the book . In today's society and culture, we have been spoon-fed images of airbrushed, idealized "beauty" by the mass-media. Ironically, this narrow view has become, in a sense, anti-beauty. Beauty's purpose has been forgotten. True beauty cannot be defined by appearance, as the body is irreversibly connected with the mind and spirit. Here in this community, we finally have a place to celebrate true beauty as a whole person. Let us come together and re-find ourselves and begin to heal.

You can post links to articles you've found on related issues such as positive body image, book exerpts, your own artwork, poetry, short stories or essays, photos of yourself, song lyrics, basically anything you find beautiful, anything that promotes a healthy connection between beauty of body and beauty of spirit, or can promote healthy discussion on the topics at hand. This is YOUR community; take it in whatever direction you desire. Please, be active, creative, and beautiful.

Obviously, it goes without saying that bashing or flaming of any sort is prohibited.
