Use a text cursor to navigate & select text
You can navigate web pages, select text, and click links with your keyboard instead of your mouse. This setting is called caret browsing.
Turn on caret browsing
Important: To use caret browsing, you must connect an external keyboard.
- On your Android device, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Open a New tab.
- Select More π Image
π and then
Settings π and then
Accessibility. - Turn Navigate pages with a text cursor when a keyboard is attached on or off.
Tips:
- To use caret browsing in a web page, press the arrow keys.
- This moves a blinking text cursor.
- To jump by words or paragraphs, press and hold Ctrl + arrows.
- You can also turn caret browsing on and off with the keyboard shortcut "F7."
- For ChromeOS, press Ctrl + F7.
