Choose which services remember you

When you use a service other than Google with your Assistant, a unique ID code is sent to the service so it can remember your actions and preferences during conversations.

  • If you do not want a service to remember your past actions and preferences, reset your ID.
  • If you do not want a service to remember your past or future actions and preferences, stop the service from remembering you.

Reset your app & ID

Google Assistant on phone or tablet

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Assistant app ๐Ÿ‘ Google Assistant
    .
  2. At the bottom, tap ๐Ÿ‘ Explore & Your stuff
    .
  3. Next to the service you want to change, tap Notes ๐Ÿ‘ Notes
    .
  4. At the bottom, tap Reset app.

Important: If you don't find "Reset," you can manage your app data in My Activity.

What happens when you reset your app & ID

  • If you have an account linked to the service, it's signed out and unlinked.
  • The service forgets you, so you look like someone new the next time you use the service.
  • Your preferences and current state with the service are reset.
  • If you share a Google Assistant device with others, they wonโ€™t know you used the service.

What doesnโ€™t happen

  • Resetting your ID doesn't prevent the service from remembering you when youโ€™re signed in to your account with that service on the Google Assistant.
  • Your past activity with a service isn't deleted from your Google Account. Learn how to delete activity saved in your Google Account.
  • Your past activity, including purchases, isn't deleted from the serviceโ€™s app.
