Create calendar events & ask about your schedule
On most Assistant-enabled devices, you can ask your Google Assistant to add events to your calendar and tell you about your schedule. Google Assistant gets help from AI to add events to your calendar.
Important:
- For now, AI-supported actions are only available in English, in the United States, and to users 18 and over.
- AI can hallucinate and make mistakes, so double check your events in the Google Calendar app.
Calendars you can use
- Your Google Calendar.
- Calendars that you share with others or that others share with you, like Google Calendars. Learn how to share a calendar.
- Calendars imported through links or iCal.
These calendars won't work:
- Birthdays, holidays, and other automatic events.
Set up personalization
To add or hear your calendar information, turn on Personal results.
Important: Make sure your devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open the Google Home app ๐ Image
. - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or Initial.
- Sign in to the same Google Account thatโs linked to your device. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
- Go back to the Home screen ๐ Home
. - Touch and hold your device.
- At the top right, tap Device settings ๐ Settings

Recognition & sharing ๐ and then
Recognition & Personalization. - Turn on Allow personal results.
If multiple people use the same Google Home and want to hear their personal calendar info, they must all set up Voice Match. This process includes the person who set up Google Home.
Important: If you've already linked your Google Account and voice, skip these steps.
- Open the Google Home app ๐ Google Home
. - At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial.
- Make sure youโre signed in to the same Google Account thatโs linked to your Google Home or Nest device. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
- Tap Assistant settings ๐ and then
Voice Match ๐ and then
Add a device.- Make sure any devices you want to link to your voice are checked.
- Tap Continue ๐ and then
I agree. - Follow the in-app steps.
- To hear personal information, you must turn on Personal results: Tap I agree and proceed with Voice Match setup.
- To invite others to set up Voice Match for customized results: Tap Invite, choose your communication method, and send the invite. To skip this step, tap No thanks.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app ๐ Image
. - Tap Settings ๐ Settings

Voice Match. - Turn Use Voice Match in this home on or off.
Add an event or ask about your schedule
Make sure your Google Calendar is synced.
- Add a calendar event:
- โAdd a meeting to my calendar.โ
- โSchedule an event for me on Saturday at 8 PM.โ
- โAdd an event called Birthday Dinner.โ
- Find out whatโs on your calendar:
- โWhenโs my first meeting today?โ
- โWhereโs my next event?โ
- "Whatโs my agenda for August 1?"
Cancel an event
- "Cancel my next meeting."
- "Cancel my meeting with Andrew today."
- "Cancel my 4 PM meeting."
Add a shared calendar
Your Google Assistant uses your main Google Calendar by default. To have your Assistant tell you about events on a shared calendar:
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Assistant app ๐ Assistant
. - At the top right, tap your Google Account Profile picture or initial.
- Under "Services," tap Calendar.
- To hear events for a shared calendar, tap the box next to it.
- Your Assistant will now tell you about events on the shared calendar as well as your main calendar.
In some languages: You can have your Assistant add events to a shared calendar instead of your main calendar. Under โDefault calendar to create events,โ tap the one you want.
Find events with your Google Assistant
You can find events with your Google Assistant on your Smart Display in English in the U.S. Choose an event to learn more about and add it to your calendar or find tickets.
- Say "Hey Google."
- Say a command. For example, you can say:
- "Hey Google, show me events near me."
- "Hey Google, what concerts are happening in Los Angeles?"
- On your Smart Display, tap the screen to bring up cards, like Events.
- Swipe to find suggested events.
Add or send a calendar event
- Say "Hey Google."
- Say a command.
- On your Smart Display, tap the screen to bring up cards, like Events.
- Swipe to find suggested events.
- Tap on an event and then:
- Add to your calendar: Tap Add to calendar or say "Ok Google, add to calendar."
- Send to your phone: Tap Send to phone. On your phone, youโll find a notification with a link to the event.
Tip: You must be logged in to the same Google Account to send events to your phone.
Browse recommendations for you
You can find recommendations based on activity across other Google products if you allow personal results on your shared devices. You can also find events that are popular near you.
At any time, you may access and control activity in your account and turn personal results on or off. If personal results are off, you can only find popular events near you.
