Set & manage Google Tasks with Google Assistant
You can set, edit, and delete tasks with Google Assistant. Google Assistant gets help from AI to add tasks to Google Tasks.
Important:
- For now, AI-supported actions are only available in English, in the United States, and to users 18 and over.
- AI can hallucinate and make mistakes, so double check your tasks in the Google Tasks app.
Set up tasks
Set up tasks on a shared Google Assistant device
To use tasks on a shared Google Assistant device, like a speaker, Smart Display, or Pixel Tablet in Hub Mode:

Create a task with Google Assistant
Important: The option to set tasks for a certain location is no longer available. You can still set tasks for a certain time and set routines for some locations.
You can ask Google Assistant to set a task for you. For example, you can say:
- "Hey Google, set a task."
- "Hey Google, remind me to call Mom at noon tomorrow."
Check your tasks
In the Google Assistant app
You can check your tasks in the Google Assistant settings.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app π Google Home

Manage your tasks and task settings
With your voice
You can change a taskβs details like the time. For example, you can say: βHey Google, change my task to buy milk to 5:00 PM.β
In the Google Assistant app
You can manage your tasks in the Google Assistant settings.
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Home app π Google Home

Tasks. - Tap the task you want to edit.
- Select your preferences.
Tip: You can also say βHey Google, open Tasks.β
With your voice
You can close a task with your voice. For example, you can say: βHey Google, mark my task to buy milk as completed.β
In the Google Assistant app
You can close your tasks in the Google Assistant settings.

Tasks. - Mark the circle next to the task you want to mark as completed.
Tip: You can also say βHey Google, open Tasks.β
With your voice
- βHey Google, delete my task to empty the dishwasher.β
- βHey Google, delete all of my tasks.β

You can delete tasks in the Google Assistant settings.

Manage your task notifications

In your Settings app
- Open your device's Settings app.
- Tap Notifications π Image
App Notifications. - Tap your Google app π Image
. - Turn Tasks on or off.
- Tip: If you can't find Tasks, scroll down and tap Show unused categories
