Manage your events from Gmail

If you use Gmail, emails about your events, like flights or reservations, are added to your calendar. When you open the event in Google Calendar, you can find details about the event. This includes the address, reference number, and link to the source email.

If you don't want an event from Gmail on your calendar, you can delete it. You can also update your settings so events from Gmail arenโ€™t added to your calendar.

Learn how events from Gmail work

  • You get events from Gmail in Google Calendar for:
    • Flights, trains, and bus reservations.
    • Hotel and restaurant reservations.
    • Events for which you get registration confirmations or tickets. This includes movies, shows, and medical events.
  • Events from Gmail stay up-to-date on your calendar. For example, if you change a reservation, the calendar event also changes. Your changes show up only on your calendar.
  • Event notifications are based on your default notification settings in Calendar.
  • By default, only you can find events from Gmail, even if you share your calendar with others. You can change the visibility of events from Gmail.

Tip: If you sync Calendar with another program, you still get events from Gmail. However, some details donโ€™t show up.

Add all events from Gmail

Important:

  • By default, events from Gmail are off if you're in:
    • The European Economic Area
    • Japan
    • Switzerland
    • The UK
  • For all other places, events from Gmail are on. If you donโ€™t get events from Gmail, check your Google Workspace smart features settings.
