Edit images from the web in Gemini in Chrome
You can transform any image on the internet with Gemini in Chrome.
What you need
To edit images from the web in Gemini in Chrome on your iPhone or iPad, you need to:
- Opt in to Gemini in Chrome. Learn how to get Gemini in Chrome.
- Use the latest version of the Chrome app. Learn how to update Chrome.
- Sign in to Chrome. This feature isn’t available in Incognito mode. Learn how to sign in to Chrome.
- Be 18 or over and in the U.S., Canada, India, or New Zealand.
- Use Gemini in Chrome in a supported language.
Important:
- We’re gradually releasing this feature, so it may not be available to you just yet.
- For now, this feature isn’t available if you’re signed in to a work or school Google Account.

Before you use this feature
When you generate images with Gemini Apps, remember that you agreed to Google's Terms of Service, including the Prohibited Use Policy. Be sure not to violate others' copyright or privacy rights. Use your discretion before you rely on, publish, or use content that Gemini Apps generate. Users with a work or school account may be subject to different terms depending on the license type. Create new images with Nano Banana
You can use Gemini in Chrome to make images that you describe.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app.
- In your address bar, tap Page tools 👁 Image
. - Tap Ask Gemini 👁 Image
. - In the floating chat box, tap Add + 👁 and then
Create image. - Describe the image you want to make.
Edit existing images with Nano Banana
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app.
- Find an image you want to edit.
- Long-press the image.
- In the menu that appears, tap Create image with Gemini.
- If you don’t find “Create image with Gemini” for a specific image, the image or web page might be protected or unsupported.
- In Gemini in Chrome, describe the edits you want to make or select a suggestion.
Upload photos from your device
You can also upload images directly from your device's photo gallery or camera to use with Gemini in Chrome. You can attach up to 10 images at a time.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Chrome app.
- In your address bar, tap Page tools 👁 Image
. - Tap Ask Gemini 👁 Image
. - In the floating chat box, tap Add +.
- To add a picture from your device gallery, tap Photos.
- To add a photo from your camera, tap Camera.
- Once the image is attached, describe the image you want to create or select a suggestion.

Tips for image generation prompts
- To save or copy the generated image, long-press the image and then tap Save image or Copy image.
- Individual image uploads cannot exceed 25MB.
- You can include a maximum of 10 attachments per prompt.
- When you attach an image, Gemini in Chrome loses context about the page, like the website's URL. You may need to ask questions about the page you're looking at as a separate prompt.
- Start your prompt with words like draw, generate, and create.
- Describe the image style you want. Here are a few examples: photorealistic, charcoal drawing, watercolor painting, cartoon illustration.
- Include a detailed visual description of what you want in the image. This can include the subject of the image, what the subject is doing, and the background or setting.
