Download a file

To save a file or image on your computer or device, download it. The file will be saved in your default download location.

Download a file in Chrome

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. Go to the page of the file that you want to download.
  3. Tap the file that you want to download.
  4. To download, tap the file πŸ‘ and then
    SAVE….
  5. On the β€œSave in…” screen, select Files.

Tips:

  • If you can’t find "SAVE…:"
    1. Tap the file you want to download.
    2. At the top right, tap Share πŸ‘ Share
      πŸ‘ and then
      Save to Files πŸ‘ and then
      Save.
  • If you tap Print instead of Save to files, at the top right, tap Share πŸ‘ Share
    . Follow the prompts and then tap Save.
  • You can open a file in another app, the file is downloaded to a temporary folder. When you close your Chrome window, the files are deleted from the temporary folder.
  • To cancel a download that’s in progress, tap Cancel πŸ‘ Cancel
    .

You can directly save files to Google Drive.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. Go to the page of the file you want to download.
  3. To download, tap the file πŸ‘ and then
    SAVE….
  4. On the β€œSave in…” screen, select Google Drive.
  5. Select the Google Account where you want to save the file.
  6. Tap Save.

Tip: If your storage is full, a message prompts to manage your storage. Learn how to buy more Google storage.

Save or copy an image

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. Go to the site with the image that you want to save.
  3. Touch and hold the image.
  4. In the menu that opens, tap Save Image.

  4. In the menu that opens, tap Copy Image.

You can directly save downloaded images to Google Photos.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome

  2. Go to the page of the image you want to download.
  3. Tap and hold the image.
  4. Select Save Image in… πŸ‘ and then
    Save in Google Photos.
  5. Select the Google Account where you want to save the photo.
  6. Tap Save.

Tip: If your storage is full, a message prompts to manage your storage. Learn how to buy more Google storage.

Find files or photos that were downloaded to your device

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome πŸ‘ Chrome
    .
  2. Tap More πŸ‘ More
     πŸ‘ and then
     Downloads πŸ‘ Download
    .
  3. To access a file, touch and hold its name. You can copy, share, or remove the download.
