Download a file
To save a file or image on your computer or device, download it. The file will be saved in your default download location.
Download a file in Chrome
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Go to the page of the file that you want to download.
- Tap the file that you want to download.
- To download, tap the file π and then
SAVEβ¦. - On the βSave inβ¦β screen, select Files.
Tips:
- If you canβt find "SAVEβ¦:"
- Tap the file you want to download.
- At the top right, tap Share π Share
π and then
Save to Files π and then
Save.
- If you tap Print instead of Save to files, at the top right, tap Share π Share
. Follow the prompts and then tap Save. - You can open a file in another app, the file is downloaded to a temporary folder. When you close your Chrome window, the files are deleted from the temporary folder.
- To cancel a download thatβs in progress, tap Cancel π Cancel

You can directly save files to Google Drive.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Go to the page of the file you want to download.
- To download, tap the file π and then
SAVEβ¦. - On the βSave inβ¦β screen, select Google Drive.
- Select the Google Account where you want to save the file.
- Tap Save.
Tip: If your storage is full, a message prompts to manage your storage. Learn how to buy more Google storage.
Save or copy an image
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Go to the site with the image that you want to save.
- Touch and hold the image.
- In the menu that opens, tap Save Image.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Go to the site with the image that you want to save.
- Touch and hold the image.
- In the menu that opens, tap Copy Image.
You can directly save downloaded images to Google Photos.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Go to the page of the image you want to download.
- Tap and hold the image.
- Select Save Image inβ¦ π and then
Save in Google Photos. - Select the Google Account where you want to save the photo.
- Tap Save.
Tip: If your storage is full, a message prompts to manage your storage. Learn how to buy more Google storage.
Find files or photos that were downloaded to your device
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome π Chrome
. - Tap More π More
π and then
Downloads π Download
. - To access a file, touch and hold its name. You can copy, share, or remove the download.
