Generate audio with Gemini in Google Docs

You can use audio generation with Gemini to:

Listen to audio versions of your document tabs.
Listen to audio summaries of your documents.
Add audio buttons to documents.

Use Gemini to listen to your documents

On your computer, open a document in Google Docs.
- Your document should have content before you can generate audio.
To generate audio, you can:
- At the top, click Tools 👁 and then
  Audio 👁 and then
  Listen to this tab 👁 Image
  .
  - Or, in the toolbar, click Listen to this tab 👁 Image
    .
To generate an audio summary, click Listen to document summary 👁 Image
.
To insert an audio button or add an audio chip:
- Insert an audio button:
  1. At the top, click Insert 👁 and then
    Audio buttons 👁 and then
    Listen to tab 👁 Image
    .
  2. Click the inserted button.
- Add an audio chip in your selected section:
  1. Select the section you want to add an audio chip.
  2. Enter @.
  3. Select Listen to tab.
  4. Click the inserted button.
You can change the speed and the voice of the audio with the audio player.
- To change the speed, click Playback speed 👁 Image
  👁 and then
  Choose the speed.
- To change the voice, click More 👁 More
  👁 and then
  Change voice 👁 Image
  .
  1. You can preview and select a voice:
    - Narrator
    - Educator
    - Teacher
    - Persuader
    - Explainer
    - Coach
    - Motivator
  2. Click Select.
Optional: To send feedback, in the audio player, click More 👁 More
👁 and then
Useful audio 👁 Image
or Not useful audio 👁 Image

1. If you click Not useful audio 👁 Image
  :
  1. Select the issue you found.
  2. Enter additional feedback.
2. Click Submit.

Tips:

You can pause, resume, and check how long it takes to read the entire doc.
You can move the audio player around the screen.
You can edit the labels of the audio button.
You can edit the size and color of the button.
