Work with links & bookmarks

You can insert, update, or delete links in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.

Add a link

1. Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
2. Docs: Tap Edit 👁 Edit
   .
3. Highlight text or tap the area in the file where you want the link to appear.
4. In the top right, tap Create 👁 Insert
   .
5. Tap Link.
6. In the "Text" field, type the text you want to be linked.
7. In the "Link" field, enter a URL or email address, or search for a website.
8. To save, tap Done 👁 Done
   .

Change or remove a link

1. Open a file in the Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides app.
2. Docs: Tap Edit 👁 Edit
   .
3. Tap the text, cell, or shape with the link you want to remove.
4. To remove the link, tap Remove link. To change the link, tap Edit Link or More 👁 More
   👁 and then
   Edit link.

Add a bookmark

Bookmarks are not available on Android; you’ll have to use a computer.
