How to use Google Forms
You can use Google Forms to create online surveys, quizzes, and forms, send them to others to fill out and then analyze their responses in real time.
To edit forms and analyze responses with others, you can share your form with collaborators.
Create a new Google FormStep 1: Create a new form or quiz
- Go to forms.google.com.
- Click Blank form 👁 Plus
. - Name your untitled form.
When you create a form in Google Sheets, the responses will be saved in a new sheet. Learn more about where you can save responses.
- On a computer, open a spreadsheet at sheets.google.com.
- Click Tools 👁 and then

. - A new sheet will appear in your spreadsheet, and your form will open.
When you create a Google Form, it’s saved in Google Drive. To create a form directly from Google Drive:
- On a computer, go to drive.google.com.
- In the top left, click New 👁 and then
Google Forms.
Step 2: Edit and format a form or quiz
You can:
- Add, edit, or format text, images or videos in a form.
- Create and grade quizzes in a form.
- Select to store form responses in a Google Sheet.
To create or edit your form with others, you can share your form with collaborators.
Step 3: Send your form for people to fill in
When you are ready, you can publish and send your form to others to collect their responses.
Step 4: Review & analyze responses
You can get charts with response data or open the data with Google Sheets and other add-ons for deeper analysis of the responses.
- Choose where to save form responses.
- View and manage form responses.
- Use add-ons, Apps Script, AppSheet, and Data Studio.
