Add an image to a spreadsheet

You can add images under 50 MB in .png, .jpg, or .gif format. Follow the image usage guidelines. SVG file format isn't supported.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
  2. Tap Insert 👁 Insert
    👁 and then
    Image.
    • Or, you can touch and hold, then drag your image to the spreadsheet.
      • If you perform this action, the image is inserted over the cells in the spreadsheet. To insert the image into a cell:
        1. Tap the image.
        2. Select Insert in cell [cell address].
  3. Select to place your image in the cell or over the cells. Cells with an image cannot also have text.
  4. Choose where to get your image from.
  5. Tap a photo.

Move an image

Move an image from one cell to another

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
  2. Tap the cell with the image you want to move.
  3. Tap Cut.
  4. Tap the cell to move the image to.
  5. Tap the cell 👁 and then
     Paste.

Move an image that's over the cells

Tap the image to select it, then tap and drag it.

Delete an image

Delete an image in a cell

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
  2. Tap the cell that has the image you want to delete.
  3. Tap the cell 👁 and then
     Clear.

Delete an image that's over the cells

Tap the image 👁 and then
 Delete.
