Add an image to a spreadsheet
You can add images under 50 MB in .png, .jpg, or .gif format. Follow the image usage guidelines. SVG file format isn't supported.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
- Tap Insert 👁 Insert
👁 and then
Image.- Or, you can touch and hold, then drag your image to the spreadsheet.
- If you perform this action, the image is inserted over the cells in the spreadsheet. To insert the image into a cell:
- Tap the image.
- Select Insert in cell [cell address].
- If you perform this action, the image is inserted over the cells in the spreadsheet. To insert the image into a cell:
- Or, you can touch and hold, then drag your image to the spreadsheet.
- Select to place your image in the cell or over the cells. Cells with an image cannot also have text.
- Choose where to get your image from.
- Tap a photo.
Move an image
Move an image from one cell to another
- On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
- Tap the cell with the image you want to move.
- Tap Cut.
- Tap the cell to move the image to.
- Tap the cell 👁 and then
Paste.

Tap the image to select it, then tap and drag it.

- On your iPhone or iPad, open a spreadsheet in the Google Sheets app.
- Tap the cell that has the image you want to delete.
- Tap the cell 👁 and then
Clear.
