Collaborate with Gemini in Google Drive (Workspace Experiments)

Supported languages
You can use the Gemini in Drive side panel in some languages. Learn more about language availability.
With Gemini in Google Drive, you can:
- Summarize a file, a folder, or information across several files.
- Retrieve quick facts about a project or topic without the need to find and read the relevant documents.
- Ask questions about folders.
- Find a file or folder.
- Summarize and ask questions about your images.
Get started with Gemini in Drive
- On your iPhone or iPad, open Google Drive 👁 Drive

. - At the bottom panel, select a suggested prompt.
- Or, you can write your own prompt.

Give feedback on generated output
Gemini for Google Workspace is constantly learning and may not be able to support your request. Because feedback may be human readable, please do not submit data that contains personal, confidential, or sensitive information.
If you get a suggestion that’s inaccurate or that you feel is unsafe, you can submit feedback. Your feedback can help improve AI-assisted Workspace features and broader Google efforts in AI.
- At the bottom right of the generated text, click Good suggestion 👁 Image
or Bad suggestion 👁 Image

, you can select the issue you found and enter additional feedback.
Optional:
- To review data that’ll be attached with your feedback, at the bottom, select the data.
- If you don’t want to include the data with your feedback, to help us improve the product experience, uncheck the box next to “Attach collected data to your feedback.”
- Click Next.
- Review additional context that you can share with your feedback. If you don’t want to include the additional context with your feedback, uncheck the box next to “Additional context.”
- Click Submit.

Turn off Gemini in Drive
To turn off any of the features on Google Workspace Experiments, you must exit Workspace Experiments. If you exit, you’ll permanently lose access to all Workspace Experiments features, and you won’t be able to rejoin Workspace Experiments. Learn more about how to exit Workspace Experiments.

- Google uses Workspace Experiments data and metrics to provide, improve, and develop products, services, and machine learning technologies across Google. When you interact with Workspace Experiments features, Google collects your Workspace Experiments data, including your prompts and input, prompt and input refinements, generated output, generated output refinements, and feedback. Google also collects metrics on the usage of these features.
- To help develop Workspace Experiments features, human reviewers may read, annotate, and process your Workspace Experiments interactions data.
- Your conversations with Gemini in Drive are not saved to Gemini Apps Activity. When you delete your Gemini in Drive conversation history, it doesn't delete any information that is saved to your Gemini Apps Activity. Learn how to delete your Gemini Apps Activity.
How Workspace Experiments data in Google Drive is collected
When you use the Gemini in Drive side panel, Google uses and stores the following data:
- Prompts you enter or select
- Generated text
- Google Workspace content that you have access to that is referenced to generate content (both Google-selected input and user-provided input).
- Your feedback on the Gemini in Drive side panel.
