Create docs, apps & more with Canvas

You can collaborate with Gemini in Canvas to create or edit a doc, app, slides, or code. You can also turn your creation into an Audio Overview, quiz, or other format.

1. Open the Gemini mobile app 👁 Image

2. Below the text box, tap Add 👁 Image
    👁 and then
   Canvas 👁 Image
    .
3. In the text box, enter your prompt.
   • Tip: To have Gemini use a specific format or document type, like a slide deck, include this instruction in your prompt. .
4. Optional: To upload files or an image with your prompt, tap Add files 👁 Image

5. Tap Submit 👁 Image
   .

1. Go to gemini.google.com.
2. Below the text box at the bottom, click Add Files 👁 Image
   👁 and then
   Canvas 👁 Image
   .
3. In the text box, enter your prompt.

4. (Optional) To upload files or an image with your prompt, tap Add files 👁 Image

5. Tap Submit 👁 Image

• To preview the app, at the top, tap Preview 👁 Image
  .
• To find errors and logs from the preview, at the top, tap Show console 👁 Image
  .

Important: To add AI to your app, you must be signed in to Gemini Apps and be 18 or over.

You can add Gemini-powered features to your app, like text and image generation.

1. Open the chat with the app you want to edit.
2. At the bottom rightl, tap Add Gemini features 👁 Image
   .
3. In the chat at the bottom, Gemini will provide an overview of what AI feature was added to the app. You can respond in the text box and ask Gemini to make additional changes.

1. Open the chat with the app you want to add to your home screen.
2. At the top, tap More 👁 Image
    👁 and then
    Add to home screen.
3. Enter a shortcut name for the app. 
4. Tap Add.

3. In the text box, enter a prompt for what you want updated.

2. At the top, tap More 👁 Image

3. Select what you want to create:
   • To create a custom visual or app, in the  text box, enter a prompt that describes what you want to turn your report or doc into.
   • To generate an Audio Overview, tap Audio Overview 👁 Image
     . 
   • To create and take a quiz, tap Quiz 👁 Image
     .
   • To generate an infographic, tap Infographic 👁 Image
     .
   • To create a web page, tap Web page 👁 Image
     .

1. On a mobile device, open gemini.google.com or open the Gemini mobile app 👁 Image

2. Open the chat with the Canvas content or app you want to share.
3. At the top, tap Share & export 👁 Image
    👁 and then
    Share 👁 Image
   .
4. If you are sharing an app, review the app info.
5. Choose how you want to share:
   • To share the link: At the top, next to the g.co/gemini/share link, tap Copy link 👁 Image
     . Then paste it where you want to share, like in a messaging app, an email draft, or a forum thread.
   • To share on an available social platform: At the bottom, tap the social platform and follow the on-screen instructions.

Review app info

When you create a shareable public link for your app, you’ll be able to review info about your app. Anyone with that public link can view and edit data associated with the app. You can ask Gemini to make changes and Gemini will apply updates to your app’s code. 

• Share data between users.
• Use Gemini-powered features. For example, if you want your app to use AI to generate text and images.
• Save data across sessions and devices. For example, if you create an app to track something over time.

1. On a mobile device, open gemini.google.com.
2. Open the chat with the  python code you want to export.
3. At the top of the Canvas panel, tap Share & export 👁 Image
    👁 and then
   Export to Colab.

Important: 

• For now, this feature isn’t available to users under 18.
• Shared links only open in . You can’t open shared Canvas content in the Gemini mobile app.

When you open a public link to someone else’s shared Canvas content, you can make a copy and continue editing it with Canvas on your own. If your Keep Activity setting is on, the shared Canvas content will be stored in your Gemini Apps Activity. Learn how to manage and delete your Gemini Apps activity.

1. Click the public link.
2. At the bottom, click Copy Canvas.
