Schedule actions in Gemini Apps

You can make Gemini a part of your daily, weekly, and monthly routines by scheduling recurring actions. For example, you can schedule actions in Gemini Apps to get:

• A daily news digest on topics that matter most to you
• Weekly inspiration for creative projects
• Monthly suggestions for new skills to learn

You can set a delivery time that works for your schedule. Gemini will prepare your content in the background so it’s ready by the scheduled time.

To schedule actions in Gemini Apps, you must:

• Sign in to Gemini Apps with one of the following accounts:
  • A personal Google Account with a Google AI Pro or Ultra subscription. Learn how to upgrade.
  • A work or school Google Account with access to a qualifying edition of Google Workspace.
  • Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
• Have Keep Activity on. This feature isn't available when this setting is off.

1. Open the Gemini mobile app 👁 Image
   or go to gemini.google.com.
2. In the text box at the bottom, enter your prompt. Get ideas for how to use scheduled actions.
   • Tip: In your prompt, provide details about when and how often you want to schedule the action.
3. Click Submit 👁 Image
   . Gemini will reply with a summary of your scheduled action.
   • Gemini will prepare your content within the hour leading up to your delivery time to help ensure you get the latest information.
   • Responses for scheduled actions are prepared in advance to guarantee timely delivery. As a result, rapidly changing data, like stock prices, won’t be the latest when you receive them. Scheduled actions work best for daily summaries and wrap-ups.

Tips:

• To update the action schedule or instructions, tap More 👁 Image
  👁 and then
  Edit. You can also ask Gemini to edit the action at any time in the scheduled action chat.
• You can also manage and create scheduled actions in your Gemini settings. Tap your Profile picture or initial 👁 and then
  Scheduled actions.
• If you ask Gemini Apps to schedule an action that uses another app, like Google Workspace, that app must be connected. If it's not, Gemini will ask you to connect the app. Learn how to use and manage Connected Apps in Gemini.

Here are a few examples of ways you can have Gemini help you using scheduled actions.

• Daily digests of your calendar, to-do list, and emails to help you prepare for the day ahead.
• Daily topic tracking to stay up to date on the latest breakthroughs and trends for any subject you're following online.
• Daily market reports tracking your stock portfolio, cryptocurrency prices, and the latest financial news from the past day.
• Daily weather forecasts paired with outfit ideas based on a list of your personal wardrobe items.
• Daily practice quizzes to help you master a new language, professional skill, or hobby.
• Daily creative prompts or artistic inspiration to jumpstart your personal projects every morning.
• Weekly news digests or details about upcoming tour dates and releases for your favorite musical artists.
• Weekly rollups of new local cafes and restaurants to check out over the weekend.

When each response is ready, Gemini will notify you:

• In the Gemini web app: In the menu under “Chats,” the chat with your scheduled action is marked as unread.
• In the Gemini mobile app: You’ll get a notification on your mobile device. The notification may appear when your device is locked depending on your settings.
  • Tip: You can turn notifications for Gemini Apps on or off in your device’s app notification settings.

You can pause an action without deleting the scheduled action. If you pause an action, Gemini won’t run your prompt until you resume the action.

3. Find the scheduled action that you want to pause or resume.

In the chat with the scheduled action, you can ask Gemini to make changes to the action. These changes will be saved for future occurrences of the action.

You can also edit or delete scheduled actions in your Gemini settings.

Gemini Apps may use your location to provide more relevant responses to your prompts. For example, to respond to prompts about the weather, Gemini Apps need to know your location.

If you schedule an action that’s related to your location, Gemini Apps will use the location where you created the action for all future responses. To schedule an action for a different location, you can either create a new scheduled action or update your existing action to specify a location.
