You can get quick answers, stay organized, and plan ahead for your classes with Google Classroom in Gemini Apps. For example, you can:
- As an educator: Manage your course material, review student work and progress, get information on upcoming tasks, draft assignments and announcements, and more.
- As a student: Quickly find course information, check assignment details and due dates, and get summaries about coursework.
Important:
- If you’re signed in to a school account, the ability to connect Google Classroom app with Gemini is enabled by default unless your admin disabled it. If enabled, you can disconnect the Google Classroom app anytime in your Connected Apps settings.

What you need
To connect Google Classroom to Gemini Apps, you need to:
- Be designated as 18 or over by your administrator. Learn more about Gemini feature access by age.
- Be signed in to the Gemini app with a work or school account. This feature isn’t available if you sign in to a personal Google Account. Learn how to sign in to Gemini Apps.
- Have your admin enable the Google Classroom app in Gemini. Only your account’s Google Workspace administrator can enable this ability. If you’re a Google Workspace administrator, learn how to manage access to apps in Gemini.
- Have Keep Activity on. Only your account’s Google Workspace administrator can manage these settings. Learn more about Gemini Apps Activity settings for work or school accounts.
Important: For now, the Google Classroom app is:
- Only available in English.
- Only available in the Gemini mobile app and the Gemini web app at gemini.google.com.
- Not available in certain features, like Gems or Live chats.

Connect Google Classroom to Gemini Apps
Important: If you’re signed in to a school account, the ability to connect Google Classroom app with Gemini is enabled by default unless your admin disabled it.

or go to gemini.google.com. - Ask Gemini to get information from Google Classroom, like which assignments haven't been submitted or are due today.

- If Google Classroom isn’t connected, you’ll get the option to connect it.

What you can do as a teacher
Important: The Google Classroom connected app in Gemini Apps doesn’t support deletion, grading, or directly posting to Google Classroom.
As a teacher, you can use Gemini Apps to streamline your work in Google Classroom, track assignment submissions, inform teaching material creation, and summarize student progress. For example, you can ask Gemini to:
- Draft communications: Draft communications and posts based on your Google Classroom information.
- Draft differentiated assignments and plans: Help draft and update assignments, and generate timelines and structured plans, based on information and content from your Google Classroom.
- Understand student progress and take action: Summarize who has submitted assignments, how students have done on prior assignments, and help identify where students might need additional teacher support.
- Streamline administrative tasks: Update assignment titles, descriptions, and more across multiple classes in draft mode, make seating charts, and find old assignments.
- Brainstorm and create activities and visual aids: Create visuals tailored to your students' learning topics and progress, and brainstorm ideas for engaging activities for your next lesson.
- Summarize student progress: Summarize learning progress for a specific student or a whole class of students.
- Summarize upcoming tasks: Get a briefing of your upcoming tasks across all your classes, like assignments ready to be graded.
What you can do as a student
Important: You must be 18 or over to use the Google Classroom connected app in Gemini Apps.

What Gemini Apps can’t do with the Google Classroom app
