Manage & delete your medical records data in the Google Health app

Learn how to export, reconnect, disconnect, and delete medical records data you’ve synced to the Google Health app. To set up medical records syncing, go to Sync your medical records with the Google Health app.

Manage medical records data

You can’t currently edit medical records in the Google Health app. If you think your medical information might be incorrect, contact your healthcare provider.

  1. Open the Google Health app πŸ‘ Image
    .
  2. At the top left, tap Connections πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Tap Apps and Services πŸ‘ and then
    Medical records πŸ‘ and then
    Export data.
  4. Under β€œYour Google Health data,” tap Export your data.
  5. Follow the prompts. You’ll get an email with a link to download your data.

To keep syncing your medical records, you may occasionally need to sign back in with your healthcare provider. Providers decide how frequently connections expire. For some providers, you may need to reconnect after just one day or one week.

  1. Open the Google Health app πŸ‘ Image
    .
  2. At the top left, tap Connections πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Tap Apps and Services πŸ‘ and then
    Medical records.
  4. If there’s an expired connection alert at the top of the screen, tap the alert.
    • Otherwise, tap Manage connections πŸ‘ and then
the provider you want to reconnect.
  5. Follow the prompts to re-establish the connection.

Disconnect & delete medical records data

You can turn off medical records syncing and delete data you previously synced at any time. When you disconnect a healthcare provider, medical record syncing with that provider is turned off. New data from that provider stops flowing to the Google Health app.

Disconnecting a provider doesn’t automatically delete data from that provider which previously synced to your Fitbit account.

You currently can’t delete specific medical records or conditions in the Google Health app. You can only disconnect from the healthcare provider that synced the record, then delete all data.

Disconnect and delete data from a single healthcare provider

  1. Open the Google Health app πŸ‘ Image
    .
  2. At the top left, tap Connections πŸ‘ Image
    .
  3. Tap Apps and Services πŸ‘ and then
    Medical records πŸ‘ and then
    Manage connections.
  4. Tap the healthcare provider you want to remove πŸ‘ and then
    Disconnect πŸ‘ and then
    Disconnect.

Optional: To also delete all synced medical records, tap the checkbox.

Tip: If you verified your identity with CLEAR, you can still pause syncing new data and delete data from a single healthcare provider. As we will continuously be looking for your records once your identity is verified, if you pause a provider, you’ll still see the name of the provider on your list but new data won’t sync unless you unpause that provider.
