Reinstall & re-enable apps
You can use apps that you bought on Google Play on any Android device without the need to pay again. Each device must be signed in to the same Google Account. Learn how to sync apps across devices.

You can also reinstall an app that you bought but deleted.
Reinstall apps or turn apps back on
- On your Android device, open the Google Play app π Google Play
. - On the right, tap the Profile icon.
- Tap Manage apps & device π and then
Manage. - Select the apps you want to install or turn on.
- If you can't find the app, at the top, tap This device π and then
Not installed.
- If you can't find the app, at the top, tap This device π and then
- Tap Install or Enable.
Troubleshooting steps
If you can't reinstall apps, try the steps below.
Uninstall & reinstall Google Play Store updates
To uninstall Google Play Store app updates:
- On your device's home or app screen, find the Google Play Store app.
- Touch and hold the Google Play Store app π Google Play
. - Tap App info.
- At the top right, tap More π Image
π and then
Uninstall updates. - Review the info and tap OK.
To reinstall Google Play Store app updates:
- Open the Google Play Store app π Google Play
. - At the top right, tap the Profile picture.
- Tap Settings π and then
About. - Under βPlay Store version,β tap Update Play Store.
Clear the cache & data of the Google Play Store
Important:
- Clearing cache from Google Play Store is the most common solution to issues when you download apps from Google Play Store.
- When you clear the cache and data, it may delete some settings on the Google Play Store app like parental controls and password protection. It will ask you to reagree to the Terms of Service the next time you open the Google Play Store.
- Find the Google Play Store app on your device's home or app screen.
- Touch and hold the Google Play Store app.
- Tap App Info π Image
. - Tap Storage & cache π and then
Clear Cache. - Tap Clear storage π and then
Delete.
Re-enable password protection and parental controls.
Find previously purchased or downloaded apps
If you canβt find an app or are asked to buy it again, make sure you use the same Google account you bought it with.
