Archive notes & lists

Once you're done with a note in Keep, you can store or delete it.

Archive a note

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Keep 👁 Keep
    .
  2. Tap the note you want to archive.
  3. In the top right, tap Archive 👁 Archive
    .

Tip: To archive multiple notes at once, touch and hold them on the Keep home screen and tap Archive 👁 Archive

Delete a note

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Keep 👁 Keep
    .
  2. Tap the note you want to delete.
  3. In the bottom right, tap Action 👁 Action menu
     👁 and then
     Delete 👁 Delete
    . Deleted notes are also deleted for anyone you've shared them with.

Tip: To delete multiple notes at once, touch and hold each note on the Keep home screen, then tap More  👁 More
 👁 and then
Delete 👁 Delete

Take notes out of the archive

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Keep 👁 Keep
    .
  2. In the top-left corner, tap Menu 👁 Menu
     👁 and then
     Archive 👁 Archive
    .
  3. Tap a note to open it.
  4. Tap Unarchive 👁 Unarchive
    .

Recover deleted notes

After deleting a note, you have seven days to recover it.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Keep 👁 Keep
    .
  2. In the top-left corner, tap Menu 👁 Menu
     👁 and then
     Trash 👁 Trash
    .
  3. Tap a note to open it.
  4. To move a note out of the trash, open it and tap Action 👁 Action menu
     👁 and then
     Restore.

Empty your trash

You can also empty the trash at any time. This permanently deletes any notes in the trash.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Keep 👁 Keep
    .
  2. In the top-left corner, tap Menu 👁 Menu
     👁 and then
     Trash 👁 Trash
    .
  3. Tap Empty Trash.
