Create or edit a note
You can write or say notes in Keep and find them from any device. Learn how to create and edit notes using your Google Assistant.
Write a note
- On your computer, go to Google Keep.
- Click Take a note.
- Add a note and a title.
- Click Done.
Edit a note
- On your computer, go to Google Keep.
- Click the note you want to edit.
- Make changes to a note.
- Click Done.
Write a note with formatted text
- On your computer, go to Google Keep.
- Click Take a note 👁 and then
Add a note and title. - Select the text you want to format.
- Click Format 👁 Image
. - Format the text.
- To bold: Tap Bold 👁 Bold
. - To italicize: Tap Italic 👁 Italic
. - To underline: Tap Underline 👁 Underline
. - To apply a heading style to a paragraph: Tap 👁 H1
, 👁 H2
, or 👁 Normal text

- To bold: Tap Bold 👁 Bold
Tip: To type in formatted text in Keep, click one text format first, and anything you type afterward automatically follows that format.
Create a new list
- On your computer, go to Google Keep.
- At the top, click New list 👁 new list
. - Add a title and items to your list.
- Optional: On the left of an item you want to move, drag Move 👁 Move
. - To add a new list item, click List item 👁 new list
. - Click Close.
Remove formatting
- On your computer, go to Google Keep.
- Select the formatted note.
- Select the text you want to change.
- Click Format 👁 Image

To remove a heading style:
- Click the paragraph with a heading style.
- Click Format 👁 Image
👁 and then
👁 Normal text
