Block calls & messages or mark as spam

You can stop unwanted calls and messages, and block or mark them as spam. When Google Voice suspects a call might be spam, it displays a warning on the incoming call screen and in your call history. You can then confirm whether or not the call is spam.

Important: If you feel you're in danger, contact your local emergency services.

When you block a number in Google Voice:

  • Calls and messages from that number are marked Blocked πŸ‘ Image
    .
  • The blocked caller gets a "Number not in service" message when they call.
  • You don’t get messages from that number.

  2. On the bottom, tap Messages πŸ‘ Messages tab

Confirm whether or not a call or message is spam

Google Voice automatically displays a warning about a suspected spam call or message. From your call or message history, you can confirm whether or not the call or message is spam.

If you confirm that a call:

  3. On the pop-up that appears, tap Confirm spam.
    • Any calls or messages from this number automatically move to the spam folder.

If you confirm that a message:

  • Is spam, any calls or messages from that number automatically go to the spam folder.
  • Is not spam, the warning is removed from that message. The warning banner won’t appear on any future calls or messages from that number.

To confirm a suspected spam message:

  1. In your message history, tap the message marked as suspected spam.
  2. On the warning banner shown in the message details, select Confirm spam.
