Use Smart Downloads with YouTube Premium
With Smart downloads, recommended videos are automatically added to your downloads to watch offline. Watch videos on-the-go and discover new content without the hassle of searching. Downloads will stop if you disconnect from the internet, or if your device’s storage is low.
How to download videos with YouTube Premium
Turn on smart downloads
Option 1:
From your signed-in YouTube Premium account,
- Under the You 👁 and then
panel, click Downloads. - Click Turn on next to Smart Downloads.
Option 2:
- Under the You 👁 and then
panel, click Downloads. - Click Settings.
- Turn on Smart Downloads.
Option 3:
- Click your profile picture 👁 Image

Downloads. - Turn on Smart Downloads.
Turn off smart downloads
Option 1:
From your signed-in YouTube Premium account,
- Go to YouTube.com.
- Click your profile picture 👁 Image
👁 and then
Settings 👁 Image
👁 and then
Downloads. - Turn off Smart Downloads.
Option 2:
- Go to YouTube.com.
- Under the You 👁 and then
panel, click Downloads. - Click Settings 👁 Image
. - Turn off Smart Downloads.
Find and watch Smart Downloads
From your signed-in YouTube Premium account,
- Go to YouTube.com.
- Under the You 👁 and then
panel, click Downloads. Smart Downloads are in a shelf at the top of the page. - Click the arrow keys 👁 Image
👁 and then
to see more videos, or click View all to see all your Smart Downloads.
Remove a video from your Smart Downloads
From your signed-in YouTube Premium account,
- Go to YouTube.com.
- Under the You 👁 and then
panel, click Downloads. - Click the Menu 👁 Image
next to the video you'd like to remove. - Click 👁 Image
Remove from Downloads.
