Invite collaborators to your video

Collaborations on YouTube

Collaborations let you invite up to five creators to be added as collaborators in your video. Viewers can see collaborations on desktop, mobile, and TV.

You can invite collaborators to both long-form videos and Shorts. You can invite collaborators to an archived live stream, but not active live streams.

Note: Each collaborator’s name and a subscribe button for each channel will be shown once the collaborator accepts your invitation.

To invite a collaborator:

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app 👁 Image
    .
  2. At the top, tap Create 👁 Image
    .
  3. Select the file you’d like to upload.
  4. In the “Add details” section, tap Collaborations, Comments & more.
  5. Tap Invite a collaborator.

Paid promotions

When you upload or edit a video containing a paid promotion in YouTube Studio, select “paid promotion” and then select your brand partner’s channel.

This connects your video to your brand partner’s Google Ads account, where they can review your video’s performance. If your brand partner uses your video in their ads, the video features your name and your brand partner’s name, along with a subscribe button for each channel.

Discovery & revenue

Collaborations are meant to encourage audience growth and discovery.

Our goal is to recommend the video to the audiences of both the collaborators and the channel where the video was posted. However, you may not notice changes in search or recommendations at first.

The channel where the collaboration video was posted receives the earned revenue. Revenue is not split between collaborators.
