Limit screen time on YouTube Kids

Our built-in timer lets parents limit screen time by telling kids when it’s time to stop watching. The timer will display a friendly alert and stop the app when the session is over, so you don’t have to.

YouTube Kids: How to limit screen time

Subscribe to the YouTube Viewers channel for the latest news, updates, and tips.

Here’s how to set the timer on the YouTube Kids app:

1. Tap Settings 👁 Image
   in the corner of your screen.
2. Complete the multiplication problem or enter your custom passcode.
3. Tap Set Timer. 
4.  Use the slider bar or the 👁 Image
    and 👁 Image
    icons to set a time limit.
5. Tap START TIMER.

Kids will see a "Time's up!" notification and the app will be locked once the time limit is reached. To unlock the screen: 

1. Tap Settings 👁 Image
   in the corner of your screen.
2. Complete the multiplication problem or enter your custom passcode.
3. Tap EXIT TIMER to exit, or tap START TIMER to start a new one.
