Caminus was one of thirteen Titans active during the era of the Thirteen Primes, serving the brilliant Solus Prime. He eventually departed Cybertron to settle on an uninhabited moon of a gas giant. Since many of his systems were spread out and integrated into this new civilization, the inhabitants of the civilization he founded named their planet in his honor.
Circa twelve million years ago, Caminus was the Titan of Solus Prime The Sum and Its Parts and the closest friend of the First Titan, Metroplex. During the First Cybertronian Civil War, he brought down the rogue Titan Vigilem alongside Metroplex and Chela. Rubicon The three handed Vigilem over to "Onyx Prime" so that he and his master Liege Maximo could be banished from Cybertron. The First Who Was Named
Before leaving his homeworld forever, Caminus bid Metroplex farewell. Windblade vol. 1 #4 Caminus travelled through space and eventually settled on a small moon in a distant star system; using the hot spot within his body, Caminus established a new outpost of Transformer civilization. A 'Bot and Her City To ensure the colony's survival as it grew, Caminus allowed himself to be disassembled and spread across the planet. Caminus's intact brain module survived, however, and in order to interpret his jumbled thoughts the Camiens developed the tradition known as "cityspeaking," with some of their number painting their faces in honor of Caminus. Circa 2014, the First Titan Metroplex remotely located several of his brethren and their colonies, including his still-living brother Caminus. A Long Way Down While merged with Metroplex's mind, Cityspeaker Windblade tried to lock onto the beacon of Caminus. Windblade vol. 1 #4
Not long after, Windblade and her associates oversaw re-establishment of normal contact between Cybertron and Caminus. Unfortunately, scheming Cybertronian ruler Starscream arranged for violent Combiner Menasor to be the first contact with Camiens. First Contact Caminus attempted to alert his Cityspeakers about the Enigma of Combination energy he sensed, but they were unable to comprehend his garbled warnings. The Sum and Its Parts Subsequent events saw Caminus's people joining the Council of Worlds, resolving a longstanding energy crisis. All That Remains
In 2018, Caminus's world came under attack from the Chaos-Bringer Unicron as the planet contained a Regenesis ore. Though his people were evacuated to safety, Caminus himself was too spread out to be saved in time as Unicron destroyed his planet. Last Stand
